Why is my hair falling out/breaking?

Ok so,
Over the past 2 months of so my usually very healthy hair has fallen apart. It's both falling out from the root and breaking like crazy. I have never colored my hair and rarely straighten it. I am taking a vitamin B complex vitamin and vegetal silica for healthy hair and skin. I even went as far as to buy nioxin, a shampoo for thinning hair which I use along with a deep conditioner.

I have a feeling this is linked with my move 22 hours away from home for college. I think I've been eating pretty healthy and I don't feel that stressed. I have, however, been sleeping a lot lot lot less that usual. Could that be the cause? Could the change in water have anything to do with it?

I'm not sure what to do anymore. It's really starting to freak me out. I have a doctors appointment but I couldn't get in till Dec 21 :/
Is there anything else I should be doing? Does anybody know why this might happening?
thanks.

  1. I have the same problem and while doing some research I discovered that if you change shampoo or cream-rinse for a while..it may help. I’ve switched to a natural shampoo which is not animal tested. Supposedly, this will help to strengthen my hair which will in turn help it not to fall out as much.

  2. I say look up some information on the vitamins.

  3. You’re hair is falling out probably because of heat damage. I had perfectly healthy hair and I’m only at 14. I use a flat iron and curling iron so much and that’s why my hair’s falling out. If you stop it won’t fall out.
