Why does liver have such an astoundingly high amount of vitamin A?

I could never figure this out. It is generally nutritious but when I look on the back of the package the amount of vitamin A dwarfs the amounts of any other vitamins in the liver. And how important is vitamin A in one's diet?

  1. Vitamin A is stored in the liver, so if you eat liver you are eating an animals vitamin A reserves.

You can actually poison yourself if you eat polar bear liver (I know that is unlikely but they taught us this in med school) because the bears store vitamin A so efficiently.

    Aloha

  2. vitamin A is essential for good eyesight, carrots have a lot of vitamin A too. That’s why Bugs Bunny has good eyesight.

  3. i love liver and its so inexpensive just dont eat it too often as too much vit a is bad for you guess liver is just high in that vitamin
