Why are my prenatal vitamins making me sick?

I've been taking One Source prenatal vitamins for about two weeks now. I started my period a week early, but I have not taken a pregnancy test. My cousin that's a nurse told me you can still be pregnant even on your period. I'm currently looking for another job, but I've been at home lying down because I feel naseated all the time now. Could it be my prenatal vitamins or could I be pregnant? Please help me! Thanks in advance!

  1. prenatal vitamins have high iron in them. i had to take mine without iron because i was so sick from them

  2. Early pregnancy can make you feel nauseous. It may be morning sickness, and yes it can last all day. On the other hand prenatal pills made me sick. I took two children’s chewable vitamins with iron a day, as advised by my Dr. They make chewable prenatal pills as well. You may digest these better.

I would stop taking the prenatal pills and see if you feel better. You may not be pregnant at all. Take a pregnancy test after your period just so you know either way (you can get them at a dollar store to save money). Good Luck..

  3. Why Do Prenatal Vitamins Make You Sick?

Prenatal Vitamins contain fairly large amounts of iron and folic acid, both of which tend to make you sick to your stomach.

I am 5-months pregnant and when I started taking my prenatal-vitamins I was starting to get morning sickness, and feel really sick I talk to my Ob-Gyn about it and told her I was taking them daily with my breakfast but everytime I would take them I will feel so sick!!!

I told her one day I didn’t take my vitamins until I had my dinner and was ready to go to bed and felt very good no sickness at all know I take my Prenatal-Vitamins at night I can’t take them during the day I get really really sick!!!
