    Lasix is used to help the body stop building up fluid caused
    by the body retaining sodium and also may help the
    fluid building up in the abdomen, known as "Ascites".
    Vit K helps those who bleed easily and in cirrhosis, the
    liver might not make the factors it once did and the
    patient not only bruises easily, they can bleed easily.
    Lactulose is a drug used to bind ammonia in the
    intestines to help the patient remove the toxins that may
    cause encephalopathy (which is a disease of having
    confusion and memory problems cause of ammonia
    going into the brain pass the blood brain barrier.
    Folic acid helps with anemia and it also helps the
    liver stay healthy. It is one of the things that helps with
    protein, but not all liver patients are given this. It all
    depends on what deficiencies they have, that the
    doctor can see on their blood work and if they are
    mal nourished.
