Whats the difference between a Vitamin and a Supplement?

I'm a female and 15 years old. I suffer from seriouse anxiety and OCD tendencies, plus mood swings. I was thinking about asking my doctor about Magnesium Taurate which is a supplement for it. I like it because it is not prescription medication. I am on zoloft and Aderall xr. Is it the same thing as a vitamin?

  1. Vitamins are generally what supplements contain. However, vitamins can be natural (organic) coming from fruits and vegetables as well as inorganic (pills/supplements). Both do the same job at enhancing your health and if you are curious to see some of the health benefits that come from taking magnesium, I suggest reading up some of the info found here: http://www.jigsawhealth.com/supplements/magnesium

  2. Yes pretty much. Vitamin/supplement are used interchangeably.
