what will help my hair grow?

in high school my hair was about 2 inches below my shoulders. I'm going to be a junior in college and my hair is now about 2 inches above my shoulders. When I was in my second semester of my freshman year I got a really cute bob hair cut that was pretty short. my hair has definitely grown out from that but I'm having trouble getting it past my shoulders. I feel like every time I go to the hair dresser and they "trim" my hair it gets chopped off even though i say i just want a trim.
I am currently taking hair skin nail vitamins, I take calcium, a multi vitamin and my hair dresser recently told me to try prenatal vitamins.I'd like to know things that have worked and have not worked so I don't waste time and money. It can be a home remedy or something you have bought. thank you!!!
I forgot to mention that I use Paul Mitchel shampoo, conditioner, heat protectand spray and straightner. I also use redken deep conditioning treatment and I color my hair blonde by a professional but not with bleach. any shampoos or other products that are better please let me know =)

  1. Your options are pretty slim; even if you do everything you are supposed to you may not see an increase in growth. Hair isn’t alive and it doesn’t grow. Hair is an accumulation of a protein called keratin inside the follicle. As it builds up on the bottom it is pushed out the top, creating "hair growth". This is a biological process so nothing that you do to your hair, like trimming it or using some "special" shampoo can help. Eat a healthy, protein rich diet and take a regular multivitamin daily. Since hair is protein, eating foods rich in protein like peanut butter, eggs, and fish can help to accelerate growth. Don’t waste your time with massage, increasing hair growth is tiny anyway, massage isn’t going to do anything.

Do not take prenatal vitamins, despite what some uneducated people here (and your stylist) may say, taking too many vitamins can do serious damage to your organs, cause arthritis, and can even cause death. It isn’t "just extra nutrients," it is deadly so don’t believe it. I don’t mean to sound negative, but this is serious and I don’t want to see people get hurt for long hair!

Your organs cannot process those high levels of vitamins and will eventually shut down. When you are pregnant the baby suck nutrients out of you, so you have to replace them with extra vitamins. But when you are not pregnant those ultra high levels of vitamins go straight to your organs like the liver and kidneys. Over time the buildup stops the organ’s ability to filter and it will shut down, and organ failure means death.

So no shampoo (including Mane n’ Tail!) conditioner, oil, or product can, in any way, accelerate hair growth. Hair growth is almost entirely genetic, and a little bit diet, so all that you can do it change your diet. Split ends cause breakage on the bottom of your hair, not at the base. Hair is an inanimate strand of protein, nothing that you do to the bottom if it can have any effect on the top of it.

So again, trimming your hair has no effect on growth! Hair does not grow from the ends, it grows from the root! Hair growth is entirely biological and has nothing to do with the hair that you already have, so having healthy hair DOES NOT mean that it will grow faster, damaged hair grows at the exact same pace as healthy hair. If you want healthy hair, avoid heat at all costs and get a salon quality shampoo and conditioner, wash the conditioner out with cold water, but this will have no effect on growth.

Stop trimming it! Or go somewhere where they will cut it off a little. If you are taking good care of your hair you only need a trim every 3-4 months, and only a tiny bit.

  2. Nothing.
You cant speed up the process believe me
i have long hair and my dad makes me cut it
    alot ]X
so i tried alot of stuff to make my hair grow faster
and nothing works so dont waste your time
put it in a ponytail and wear a hood
