What vitamins are needed in a healthy diet?
I became a vegetarian about 6 weeks ago. A few days ago i got sick. I have a sore throat, and i feel weak. I think its possibly because im lacking some vitamin. I never did to much research about being vegetarian, and i was hoping if someone could help.

I hate to tell you this, but vitamins really don’t absorb well in your system. They definitely are NOT the key to a healthy diet.
If you’re a vegetarian, the mineral you are lacking is probably IRON, since its most readily available in delicious, bloody red meat.
I hope you find a solution that fits your lifestyle.

This might sound wierd but I take the childeren’s flinstone vitamins. My doctor told me to take them when I was pregnant and they’ve worked so I’ve been taking them since!

well, vitamin c is very important, just take a multivitamin, and add walnuts, kiwi, beans, and soy milk.

Well, you need all the different types of vitamins but because you have a sore throat and stuff, I think you might need some viatmin C. Also, as a vegetarian you need to take iron tablets to keep your iron levels up and stop you becoming anaemic

just get some multivitamin pill…by the way make sure you research about all the meat substitutes and protein alternatives you can get from the stores near your home/office..from there create a diet that will suit your lifestyle to give you the maximum health benefits..make sure your daily diet is rich with all sorts of veggies and fruits as much as possible,as long as the portions are moderately just enough to fill up..

I don’t know what you’ve been eating but my guess would be if you were eating meat before that your body is confused. You probably need some protein. Peanut butter is a good source of protein. I don’t know anything about being a vegetarian either so I don’t know if you can even eat peanut butter. I do know that you need vitamin C and D and E. Dark leafy green vegetables are a good sourced for D and E. You can get vitamin C from fruit.
