What vitamin d supplement should I take?

Im seventeen and I would just like to know if I can take vitamin d supplements.I did some research and
found that if 2000 iu is taken per day it will dramatically lessen your chances of getting cold or flu.
Am I to young to be taking these things or is it good.

  1. There’s no need to be taking extra vitamin D unless prescribed by a doctor. Colds and flu’s are caused by infectious organisms, not vitamin D deficiency.

Geting as many colds and flu’s as you can when you’re young and building up your immunity is a good thing….it’s better to fight these things when you’re young and fit rather than when you’re old.

  2. after a blood test my doctor suggested 2000iu of d3 per day….just a warning vitamin d makes a person very gassy…I do feel much better physically
