what natural herbs or supplements will help lower high blood pressure?
I have high blood pressure and need an alternative way to help lower it (I am excercising). I lost my job and medical insurance, so any suggestions are welcome.

calcium and magnesium in a combo of 500mg and 250mg respectively.
also, aged garlic extract 600mg twice daily. fish oil 3000mg three times a day on a long term basis. Vitamin C when taken in high doses such as 1000 to 2000mg daily. All of these are separate items but I would recommend that you speak with a physician to ask what if these would affect any other medications you currently take.

Herbs and supplements are just as costly as prescription meds and much less likely to work. Spend your money on a doctor’s visit and effective drugs, not supplements. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can kill you, economize somewhere else.
Other ways to reduce high blood pressure include stop smoking, lose weight, exercise more, reduce salt, fat, alcohol and red meat consumption, increase fruit, veggie, whole grain and fish consumption.

Magnesium seems to be a supplement that works well because it relaxes the blood vessels as they should be. There are other nutrients that help as well.
The best one I’ve found which is a whole food magnesium supplement and it has other things good for high blood pressure is called the Blood Vessel Support Formula. You can find it at http://www.realfoodnutrients.com/bp/home.htm
