What is the best Vitamin for Memory loss or Clarity of thoughts?
There are so many different vitamins like Ginko, and super dha; what is the best one for really Clairty and concentration? I am having problems remembering things people tell me- short term memory loss, and forgetting where i am putting things. I locked my keys in my car; and this is the second time in a week. I really need to do something about this. if there is a vitamin that helps with this forgetfulness, can you please tell me which brand is the best, and how many Mg i should take.
I am a young person. yes.

I would suggest eliminating transfats completely from your diet. A high carb diet degenerates the brain, a high saturated fat diet regenerates the brain.
I would recommend having your vitamin D levels tested & get your vitamin D levels to the highest part of "normal". I would also supplementing the diet with cod liver oil & virgin coconut oil, as well as 5g of fish oil per day when you take your vitamin D supplement (preferably oil based in medium chain triglycerides) I mix the cod liver oil with coconut oil, mayo, fish (sardines preferably), chia seed gel & vegetables. The coconut oil helps the body incorporate the other items (vitamins, minerals, etc.) into the body structure.
Eat eggs cooked in butter & butter on vegs – this will also help incorporate vitamins & minerals into the body structure. Try to only use saturated fats & olive oil & not vegetable oils. Polyunsaturated fatty acids are fine in whole food sources but not as oils, they are fragile & go rancid quickly which creates free radicals.
I would also suggest researching iodine supplementation. Adding kelp to your daily diet should help.
Glucose is the bodies preferred fuel (if you want to get technical, it actually burns alcohol most efficiently, but that doesn’t make it any healthier for the body or brain than carbs), the body can convert 100% of carbs, 58% of protein & 10% of dietary fat into glucose. The body can also be fueled by fat (dietary fat & fat cells) but only in the absence of carbs. Your brain actually prefers* to be fueled by ketones (part of the fat burning process), it does require glucose also, but glucose can be easily converted from excess protein if needed or dietary fat.
The brain gets its energy from ketone bodies when insufficient glucose is available. After blood glucose is lowered for 3 days, the brain gets 30% of its energy from ketone bodies. After 40 days, this goes up to 70% (during the initial stages the brain does not burn ketones, since they are an important substrate for lipid synthesis in the brain). In time the brain reduces its glucose requirements from 120g to 40g per day.
Ketones have been described as "magic" in their ability to increase metabolic efficiency, while decreasing production of free radicals, the damaging byproducts of normal metabolism. The heart and brain operate 25% more efficiently using ketones as a source of energy

This is from recent research -
new evidence demonstrating several amazingly positive benefits of a very low-carb, high-fat diet including in the treatment of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s disease, epilepsy and even brain cancer.
Lead researcher Dr. Theodore B. VanItallie, from the St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, believed that a "hyperketogenic" diet would serve as an excellent natural remedy for Parkinson’s disease because the excess ketones in such a diet consisting almost entirely of fat would trick the body into healing itself without the use of drug therapy.

Carbs the only thing that triggers insulin (the fat storage hormone) which causes obesity.
Obese People Have ‘Severe Brain Degeneration’
A new study finds obese people have 8 percent less brain tissue than normal-weight individuals. Their brains look 16 years older than the brains of lean individuals, researchers said today.
"That’s a big loss of tissue and it depletes your cognitive reserves, putting you at much greater risk of Alzheimer’s and other diseases that attack the brain," said Thompson.

Gary Taubes who wrote "Good Calories, Bad Calories" spent 7 years going through all the studies over the last century & dividing up the real science from the faulty science & concluded that low carb was the best way to control insulin levels which balances out other hormones & allows the body to function properly.
A few of his main points regarding health are:
Through their direct effects on insulin & blood sugar, refined carbs, starches, sugars are the dietary cause of coronary heart disease & diabetes. They are likely dietary causes of cancer, Alzheimer’s & other diseases.
Dietary fat, whether saturated or not, is not a cause of obesity, heart disease or any other chronic disease.
The problem is refined carbs in diet, their effect on insulin secretion & the hormonal regulation of homeostasis.

Vitamin B12 deficiency causes memory problems and concentration problems. Try taking 1000 – 2000mcg a day for a few months and see how you go. Oral spray is excellent..i recommend it :)

If you are younger person, Ginkgo Biloba supplements work very well for memory and concentration. If you are a senior you should use memory formula with natural hormones. You can buy those in health food or vitamins stores, there are few to choose from. You need to try what works for you.

There are lots of vitamins and supplements on the market that can help with memory. The most basic would be a good Vitamin-B Complex, which is pretty cheap and you can find them anywhere. Also, if you’re taking a multivitamin, they come with a full assortment of B Vitamins (if you are not already on a multivitamin, that would be a good place to start). Also, fish oils. These can be found in liquid or capsule form. I prefer the capsules as they are easier to take and do not smell. You can find them at health food stores.
Beyond that, you can look into specific individual ingredients like Ginkgo or Ginseng or Vinpocetine. These products can be found on their own at health food stores, or inside ‘brain products’ or ‘mental supplements’. Below is a list of the most popular / best-reviewed products for memory, attention, and focus:
