What is the best brand of vitamin and multi-vitamin?

I want something that's natural and absorbs the most thoroughly.

I also like to take other vitamins along with my multi so that I can be supplemented with more of what I need. I was hoping to get the best brand and regimen for that. I usually take supplements for cell regeneration, mood elevating supplements, healthy skin, hair, nails, eyes, memory and cognitive functions IE Omega 3s, cod liver oil, vitamin a, vitamin e, st johns wart, 5htp and etc.

If you have any suggestions on any additional supplements i'd be happy to hear them!

Thank you

  1. Truth be told, any answer given here will just be personal opinion (I can give you my opinion if you’d like). There are many higher quality companies out there that are readily available and well priced… just make sure the company has a good rating with either the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia), as those are the main quality assurance organizations (USP is for the U.S., GMP is for the U.S. and worldwide).

Also, there are only a few vitamins that are automatically removed from your system if your body can’t use them, specifically Vitamin C and the B Vitamins, which are water-soluble. The other Vitamins (A, D, E, and K) are fat soluble and can build up in your system over time because they are NOT flushed from your system.
Taking the extra Omega 3 (good for skin and cardiovascular), St. John’s Wort, and/or 5-HTP (both good for mood) would be fine to add to the multi, but I would skip the Cod Liver Oil (because of added Vitamin A and D content) as well as the separate Vitamins A and E because those could be too much of those nutrients and could build up. It’s best to read labels and make sure you’re not getting too much of any given nutrient.
Biotin and/or Silica would be good for skin, hair, and nails, plus Fish Oil and/or Acetyl L-Carnitine would be good for memory/brain health.
Feel free to E-mail me if you have other products you’re looking at. Good luck and I hope I helped!

  2. I ahve worked pharamcy for 11 years and I always suggest anyone that is taking additional vitamins to take the woman oneday vitamin along with them. Most vitamins you can not get too much of and the additional that are not need are just flushed from the system. I’d just suggest for the the woman oneday vitamin.
