After awhile of taking vitamin supplements like vitamin B complex (did you feel happier/improved metabolism/less food cravings) vitamin c (did you get sick less often) multi vitamins (did you feel a sense of general well being) etc? Which vitamins were you taking, how many milligrams, for how long until you started noticing improvement, what brand if you remember, and what were the differences you noticed/felt?
From my personal experience……
Vitamin C does not really help with preventing or shortening the duration of a cold or cough but it works for some other family members who take it in an effervescent form for that. However, I noticed it helps with bleeding gums which I get from time to time when run down.
Vitamin B complex really does help me when my nerves are frayed. I think I have a genetic higher requirement for the B complex vitamins.
It is best to depend on food as a source of all nutrients but some times we may need a little extra and modern food is not as nutritional as that our ancestors ate….what with all the pesticides and additives.
Are you conducting a survey?
I think if we mention brand names it could be viewed as spam plus personally am not here to promote any brand to be honest with you.
I take B complex in a time release formulation and sublingual B12 when I can remember to do so. Vitamin C which I occasionally take …..sometimes it is in tablet [time release] form….other times in effervescent form. There is evidence for effervescence helping with absorption but a time release formulation might be better if there is some underlying healtrh issue such as bleeding gums or easy bruising..
Actually I have taken vitamins and various other supplements on and off for years…and I’ve never noticed any difference in how I felt at all. I hope they are helping and filling in gaps where my diet isn’t ideal, but I can’t tell any difference in how I look or feel between when I take them and when I don’t.
If you have a proper diet and are healthy, you’ll never need them.
Only use them if a doctor recommends it, otherwise it’s wasted money (though it makes supplement companies rich to persuade you that you do need them!)
