Vitamin E for deep abrasions on face, stitches out now?
Hey I have been in the hospital for a couple weeks and during the time I was inside I was told by many nurses that vitamin E helps heal skin abrasions. Now that I am out of the hospital and the stitches are out I want to care for it. If anyone seen the movie Avatar, I have marks that look identical to the marine in charge with deep claw marks on the one side of his face. Currently I use triple antibiotic cream daily on my abrasions but what vitamin E are they talking about, pills, lotion, liquid vitamin E, you tell me and if you want points someone with experience with this and what to buy, thank you/.

You can get liquid vitamin E at places like Whole Foods – it will have an a number indicating its strength (an IU value).
However, studies have shown that your nurses are behind the times, and it actually does not help mitigate scaring. You should probably consult your doctor for advice.
That said, I like Burt’s Bees Res-Q Ointment.

You can also get the pills most of which are gel caps and just take a pin and break them open they r more concentrated to help it heal better i’ve used that on all my tattoos and my scar that i have on my shin which had 17 stitches it only happened last summer and u can barely see the scar now!!!
