vitamin after quitting cigarette?
Hi,
What vitamins should i take after quitting cigarette? I heard Vitamin C and B could do good for quitter.
There is so many different vitamin B which one should i get? or should i get B Complex?
Can i take Vitamin C [1000mg] and Vitamin B together?
Should i just buy a multi-vitamin for daily use instead? is that enough?
Thank you.
I found the following information:
The levels of the nutrients such as the essential B vitamins and the vitamin C are often depleted in smokers and supplements must be taken to correct this deficiency of nutrients within the body. Anxiety levels are reduced by supplements of the vitamin B complex-in addition the supplement will also promotes healthy nerves and recovery from cellular injury. Use the compound called niacinamide, which is another supplemental form of the B vitamin niacin of feeling of anxiety persists even following initial supplementation. Excess free radicals flowing around in the body are cleared up by the antioxidant actions of the vitamin C. These free radicals are produced in the body by cigarette smoke in large amounts-the use of the supplements will ease cravings for tobacco and reduce other withdrawal symptoms which can come about in the person.

Yes you can take vitamin C and B together and they are in fact complementary. Also, both are a good idea at this time as your body now needs to detox from all the poisons that have accumulated from the cigarettes. Vitamin B complex will also help with any nervousness (its the anti-stress vitamin). You can also take a multivitamin and mineral supplement too so that you get a good balance of other vitamins and minerals…..it all depends on how much you want to spend really. Magnesium (the anti-stress mineral) is great for you at this time. I would make sure any multi-vitamin/mineral tablet you might take has magnesium in there. A cheap alternative is a pinch of epsom salts twice a day in warm water.
Great herbs for helping to alleviate any nicotine cravings you might experience are Passiflora incarnata (passionflower) and Avena sativa (oat straw). I would opt for the tincture and would try Passiflora first. It should help alleviate any anxiety from nicotine withdrawal too.
Not wanting to sound in any way patronising but you have done well to get this far and I wish you good health.
Thanks.

Man the best thing to do is consult a doctor about it. Vitamin intake and what vitamin you should be taken varies in who will take it and under what conditions. Let us be on the safer side and take the doctor’s advice. I’m glad you quit smoking, long live to you my friend it is a good start of a good healthy life.
