Urgent help for my dry, splitting, hair?

I have black/white hair. It started breaking off badly and drying out but it was still about 5-6 inches down past my shoulders. About 2 and a half years ago, I went to the wrong hair dresser, asked for it to be thinned out and she did a hair wacking job I've ever seen. I came out with the length at the bottom of my neck. :( My hair has not grown back out past my shoulders since, because it has been getting more dry and breaking off horribly.
I use every kind of conditioners and leave in products, oils, creams for sale on the shelves of stores. Nothing seems to be working. I even take vitamins.

So, I figured theres nothing I can do, my hair looks a mess. I can either just put it up in this tiny messy, frizzy bun after I take a shower. Or I can spend about 2 hours trying to straighten it with a FHI straightener, even then its very dry looking and gets oily/still feeling after a day. My hair isn't all curly so I can't wear it naturally down. It's a poof/dry mess.

Any help?
I've also got these really short pieces along the front of my hair line around my face, this prevents me from being able to wear my hair with any kind of bang styling because their always sticking out every which direction, and these short pieces of hair are hard to straighten and end up not laying flat if I do try to straighten them.

If I can't wear it curly, then I want to be able to wear it straight but for it to look nicely and healthy while I'm trying to grow it out long again.

I've went to other hairdressers to have it trimmed at some point after the bad hairdresser wacked off all my hair, and their only advice to me was to just have to be careful with it and try to let it grow. So, they didn't really provide any good help because I still haven't seen any length. I know it's growing, it's just breaking off. People will say did you get a hair cut, and I didn't, it just breaks that badly.

  1. Messy buns are quite in fashion at the moment so go for that for the moment. Straightening it will damage it more. Maybe you should ask a doctor?

  2. If it’s splitting, you’ll have to get it trimmed or else it will keep splitting until it falls out. Find a hairdresser that knows how to do black hair.
To keep it moisturized put olive oil in the ends, it will make keep it shiny and healthy.
Make sure that any product you use does NOT contain alcohol, it dries the hair out.

  3. Get the split ends cut just a little and you should never straighten your hair for 2 hours- that burns it. For the ones sticking up in front use serum and wait a long time before you get a razor cut. Also, go to the beauty store Sally- their products are great for moisturizing and are not entirely expensive.

  4. I think you should just shave it.
let it grow in strong and beautiful.

its not so bad, you can wear a wig.

  5. i think you should go to the doctor. but dont straighten it any more…it will damage it more

  6. what you should do is cut it very short and stylish and then check the to see how healthy the hair growing in is. Sometimes that’s what you have to do

  7. First, continue using STRENGTHENING shampoo AND conditioner. it may take awhile, but it will help. Second, stop using any heated things on your hair (straighteners, blow dryers, curlers, etc.) you hair may be part curly, but try putting it in a SOFT pony tail for a while. dont use any rubber bands, they can break the hair particle. use cloth covered for least breakage. If you MUST use heat on your hair, put heat protection in all of you hair before.
Dont dye you hair any more for at least 6 months, probably more. Also, you may want to cut off another centimeter of hair, to help it regrow. Cutting off the split ends will help it heal.
    Hope i helped!

  8. yeah, straightening it is just going to make it worse I say got to Sally’s Beautie shop and tell them about the damage and they should have something there for you that will restore your hair.
