Unexplained weight loss, is it a possibility that?

Plase note: I tried this in Diet and Fitness, but only received generic spam answers. I am not trying to lose weight, so this is not an intentional result.

I am hypothyroid and a type 2 diabetic. In the middle part of October of this year, I donated blood to the American Red Cross. However, before accepting a donation, they are required to check your iron level. I was 1 number away from being anemic according to the RN who was screening me. So, a few days later, I began a simple daily regimen of taking a "complete multivitamin from a to z", containing no "extra anything". It is now mid December, and my clothes are no longer fitting properly, as they are too big. I have to keep pulling my pants up when walking. My appetite has decreased somewhat, but nothing significant, I am not doing anything out of the ordinary, such as more exercise, and really have not been under any stress. So, other than taking the daily vitamin, I haven't changed any other aspect of my day to day routine. The only other thing that I would like to add is that my systolic number has climbed from 118 to 130, but diastolic has remained unchanged for the most part. Simply put, do you think that this daily multivitamin is allowing or, perhaps causing my weight loss? Please note, that my TSH is normal and so are my glucose tests (2x daily @ 90 - 110). Total weight loss is 20+ lbs.

  1. I would go and see a doctor.

  2. I had a friend that was loosing weight without even trying, if she had gone to the doctor for a check up she would still be living. I would run not walk to the doctor.
