Trying to get pregnant, is it okay to take vitamin d injection?

I have recently been diagnosed with vitamin d deficiency, and my GP has prescribed ergocalciferol 600000 IU/2ml will this affect the baby if i get (or already am) pregnant?

  1. Wow, that is a huge dose!

Here are the current recommendations for a pregnancy:
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Vitamin D is LIKELY SAFE during pregnancy and breast-feeding when used in daily amounts below 50 mcg (2000 units). Do not use higher doses. Using higher doses might cause serious harm to the infant.

  2. ask ur dr
