The 90/10 Principle

The 90/10 Principle What is this Principle? 10% of life is made up of what happens to you 90% of life is decided by how you react What does this mean? We really have NO control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in the traffic. We have NO control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%. How...? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light. However, you can control your reaction. Do not let people fool you. YOU can control how you react. Let us use an example You are having breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what has just happened. What happens next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over. She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your wife and you criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish her breakfast and getting ready to go to school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles per hour in a 30 mph speed limit zone. After a 15-minute delay and throwing ...

It is so true in our daily routine to always stay concious about our thoughts and emotions and re/actions to others….
    I also love the music…

  4. Anton017,

My friend, thank you for being encouraging and reminding us that life can be trying at times. When these things occur it is so very important that we realize, we cannot control 10% of what goes on. I would like to add to that. We cannot control 100% of what goes on. I know i cannot control 90% of my actions and thoughts. If I could, I wouldn’t need a Savior! Oh, but I do need a Savior! I need Jesus!

  5. Brothers and sisters, please be very careful! We are living in an age where many deceptions (especially from the new age philosophy) are sneaking into Christianity. Anton017, I know you mean well, my dear brother. But I would like to remind everyone of a few Bible verses.

“I can of mine own self do nothing:..” – John 5:30

“…for without Me(Jesus) ye can do nothing.” – John 15:5

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13

  6. “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57

    *smiles*

  7. Jesus says, “Without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5). That is a tremendous truth, but we must go far beyond the negativism of this statement and experience the positive reality of Philippians 4;13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” The difference between “all things” and “no thing” is Christ! AMEN!

    (beautiful music, Anton017!)

  12. Beautiful music, and so true. Thanks for the great sharing.

  13. Good self motivational stuff, but totally not Biblical or Christ centered.

10/90 Principle do exist. It’s called “The Tithe”
Its basically a reverse of man’s theology and methods.
Give 10% to God as a Tithe and the 90% is blessed/holy. Its everywhere in the Bible actually, this doesn’t just apply to money.

  14. This got to me, and I did, with no delay, send an excuse to my son and daughter for the ocations, when I acted as in the bad example. They must have been strong in mind and well supported from others, among them my wife. I will live by this principle for the remaining years I have left, as well as I can, and try to “sell” the principle during education in my classes, when I see it works.

  15. It is good to hear. Have a peaceful day!

  16. Excellent message. As for being “biblical”,.. no,.. it does not reference scripture nor does it scream Halleluiah,.. but it does parallel the message of Christ relating to forgiveness of others, compassion, love,.. so while it may be of a self-motivational message,.. it’s roots are found,.. biblically.

    Excellent Post,… Thank You!!

  17. such a great principle, my father told me about it once, thanks for sharing

  22. this got to me getting mad cz i was trying to surprise my mom but she refused to get the most impotant material i fumed for an hour cuz i couldnt surprise her then saw this statted crying and wasnt mad any more cuz she made that decision so i shoukdnt be mad i cant surprise her

  23. i was fuming cuz i was trying to surprise my mum but she wouldnt get the supplies i saw this then started crying then got over it cuz it wuz her decision so i should feel bad this is one of those 10 percent times

  24. This is another excellent video Antono.

When we first saw the title, we thought it might be about the references in Isaiah and Jeremiah to the remnant (1 in 10).

Either way, faith is going to make all the difference, isn’t it?

    May God be with you.

  25. @Contemplative2k9 Thank you. G-d bless you too.
