I actually have been using this method for a year or two now. I asked my dentist before hand, to ensure that it was safe. He told me that it would be perfectly fine, as long as i used it with moderation (hence I use it once a week in a small amount ). About year a year ago, I used crest white strips and this would be great to maintain a white smile after I finish the white strips package. And yes baking soda does have a horrible better taste, I believe it is basic in pH. That is why it should be used with toothpaste to help hide its true taste and used in a tiny amount also.
