Possible Industrial Piercing help? : /?
So i got my Industrial (Scaffold, constructive, what ever you know it as) pierced about three months ago. the bottom hole was not pierced through cartilage because i didn't have any to pierce where the bottom hole would go through; however, the top hole is worrying me a small bit because all of the sudden, its all red and very sensitive! (I did kind of hit it a little) but I'm a little worried because it's red, a little swollen, and its tender/sensitive (it doesn't hurt when I'm not touching it though).
What I've been doing to clean it: (twice daily) heat up some non-iodized salt water until the salt melts, then while the solution is fairly warm, it soak my ear in it for about five minutes. but recently i bought Bactine because i hear that it works VERY WELL for infections. I've also been taking vitamin C supplements as well to help out. So any advice I could get would be great (besides removing it, yeah yeah) thanks and I'll try to keep up :)
Question about my hair?
way back in november i was stressed out for being in college and paying bills, my hair had taken a turn for the worst the three months after with tons of shedding. then weeks passed and the shedding reduced and my hair has been growing in perfectly up to this date, but its still thinner then 'i'm used to and it aches in areas, I'm not sure if thats because its growing in and starting to grow again... I had very thick coarse curly hair but now its loose wavy and not as thick and coarse, I've been taking prenatal vitamins and biotin and folic acid and b-12 and vitamin E for a real long time since the incident occurred, but I am still wondering will time improve my hair i've been eatting alot of protein lean meats and vegetables and adding fruit into my diet as well, any advice will be helpful thank you !!!!
Weight loss from fasting?
Firstly, I'd like to make it very clear that I do *NOT* plan on starving myself for any length of time. Now for my question, I'd like to know about how much weight someone would lose if they were to fast for three months while still continuing to drink water and take vitamins.
I have questions about Vitamin D Deficiency?
Hi, I was just diagnosed with Vitamin D Deficiency, and the doctor has put me on pills. I'm not sure how much the dose is, but I just started them.
Okay, so a couple of months ago, I started to really feel bad. My joints and back started hurting, and my energy level was down. I have manic depression, and I started having even more suicidal thoughts and less happy times. I also started throwing up a lot.
This just started recently, though - every time I drink anything except water, I have a gag reflex, and sometimes I even throw up, depending on when I last ate. Is that a symptom of Vitamin D Deficiency?
Also, can Vitamin D Deficiency impair weight loss? About three months ago, I'd lost 20lbs. But ever since all this has began, I haven't lost a pound, (in fact, I gained 9lbs back), no matter how well I watch what I eat.
Thank you for your time!
I'm in the sun at least four hours a day. I own horses, and I also own dogs.
Vitamin D is linked with weight loss, but I GAINED weight after taking supplements for a deficiency. Why?
I took very high doses for three months (50,000 IUs 2x/week), and now I am on 2,000 IUs daily. (If it helps, the recommended allowance is 400 IUs per day.) I've gained ten pounds since I began the supplements. No other changes in diet, exercise, medications, etc. have been made during that time. Any ideas?
These levels were prescribed for me by an endocrinologist because I was extremely deficient. (My blood tested 17 units when the minimum healthy amounts are 32 units.)
Experience with Neural Tube Defect or AFP Test?
I'm 21 weeks pregnant and my doctor called me today with the results of my AFP (alpha fetaprotein) test and told me that they indicated my baby is positive for a neural tube defect (my AFP level was elevated). She also told me that there are alot of false positives with this test and the rate of false positives is 1 in 75. I have no history of neural tube defect in my family, I am 20 years old, my husband is 22 and has no history of this in his family, I was taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid for three months before I conceived, and my doctor did not notice any abnormalities in the baby at my 19 week scan. Does anyone have a similar experience or any information on neural tube defects or false positives with an AFP blood test in the second trimester that they can share? I'm really worried and I cannot get in to have a high definition ultrasound until next Wednesday. Any information would be highly appreciated!
