Low Back Pain- Sacroiliac Joint Animation – Everything You Need To Know – Dr. Nabil Ebraheim, MD
Educational video describing the sacroiliac joint as a source of low back pain. Due to the proximity of the sacroiliac joint to the hip and the spine, pain of SI joint origin may be attributed to a hip or spine condition rather than the sacroiliac joint itself. SI joint pain is an unappreciated problem. Clinical and radiological evaluation is not usually reliable. The only reliable method for diagnosing SI joint pain is by injection.
Psoas Massage Release At The Hip
SelfAdjustingTechnique.com The deepest muscle in the body is the Psoas. This makes it very hard to get to for therapeutic massage. There are three places where this is done. This video shows the Psoas being released using pressure point technique. A pressure point is found in the body of the muscle, normally a slight indentation within the muscle, but the Psoas can be released most anywhere it can be accessed. This video demonstrates the muscle being worked at the inside of the inner hip. The pressure may be held for anywhere from a few seconds up to three minutes. The tightness of the muscle and exactly how much the client can tolerate are the determining conditions. Generally, a tight muscle will mainly tolerate a short hold and could be worked regularly with a good increase in holding time over one to three weeks. Use comfort levels to determine how long is appropriate. Always stop before there is pain. A tight Psoas can cause low back problems since it pulls the lumbar spine forward. Other videos show how to release the Psoas in the three areas where it may be reached, using pressure point technique in these cases. Let me know what you think about this technique in the comments.
