What can I add to my smoothies to make them nutritionally complete? ?
Because of very severe food allergens, I've had to resort to making my own smoothies to eat. I have other health problems resulting from poor nutrition. I've also had alot of damage to my stomach, esophagus, and duodenum.
This are the liquid supplements that I add to my smoothies:
Flax Seed Oil (For the EFA)
DHA
ARA
L-Arginine
L-Carnitine
Taurine
Vitamins
Minerals
Protein (from brown rice)
Extra Liquid B's
Probiotics
Folic Acid
Is there anything else that I can add to my smoothies to make them more nutritionally complete?
P.S. I don't eat meat, eggs, dairy (im allergic to milk), corn (I'm allergic), potatoes, refined sugar, gluten ( I have celiac diease), salt or salty foods (I have meiners diease). I don't eat anything that is processed.
Any good tricks to lighten dark under-eye circles? Nothing works!…?
So about a year or two ago I started noticing really dark rings under my eyes. And then everyone else started noticing and started asking "What's wrong with your eyes?" and telling me "Get more sleep!"... I get about 10 hrs of sleep a day and I've tried everything. I've tried some lower-end eye creams, the chilled spoons trick, the steeped tea-bags, the sliced potatoes, the gel eye mask that you refrigerate, I've started using all sorts of eye creams and nothing works. I don't even have bags under my eyes, just the purple darkness. I've bought a bunch of different concealers and I set it with good pressed powder and the circles show right through. I don't want to just conceal them though, I want to lighten them in some way. I'm only 24, I'm not in bad shape and nothing seems to help... Any new tricks or tips? Or maybe a really good brightening eye cream, or maybe I have a certain vitamin deficiency?... Everyone always thinks I don't sleep or that I'm hung-over or I'm a drug-addict or something, they look horrible... Please help...
Advice with weight loss after having a baby?
I gained a lot of weight while pregnant. I am 5'7" and went from weighing 135 to now weighing 180 lbs. eight weeks after the birth of my son. Ever since we came home from hospital I have been watching what I eat (1200 calories most days with two days per week at about 1500 calories) and drinking lots of water. I take vitamins and fish oil, gave up soda and sweet tea and I have also started doing the "Walk Away the Pounds 4 Mile Express" DVD when my son is asleep.
Am I on the right track? I am depressed about my size and want the rest of this weight off now! It's not coming off fast enough, I am only losing about 1/2 lbs. per week. What else can I do?
p.s... I know it's my own fault for gaining so much weight while pregnant - most foods made me sick and I could only keep down macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and peanut butter. Not exactly the picture of good health! Thanks for your help.
I am no longer breastfeeding.

effective weight loss tips?
how many times a week should i work out?
what kind of foods should i eat? (baked, grilled, sauteed, etc)
how often should i weigh myself?
i don't drink 8 glasses of water. instead i drink 2-3 1L bottles of Smart Water a day, is that okay?
Is it safe to drink juice? gatorade? vitamin water?
what key foods should i avoid during a diet?
how long should a diet last?
i feel that the answers to these questions would be my key to help me lose weight that i'd wanna lose.
another thing is, if i monitor my weight by keeping a log of my progress and foods i eat, how do i know the amount of calories i'm intaking?
for example; the foods we eat are normally homecooked so i wouldn't know what the calories of grilled steak, sauteed asparagus, with mashed potatoes and/or green beans is.
does chewing gum satisfy hunger cravings?
i'm quickly trying to get my eating habits back on track as i am going to be going back to school soon and beginning a job. if allowing to splurge, how often should be allowed? i have a thing for caffeine that i've been slowing breaking as well.
thanks for all advice! any extra tips are welcome.
The Healthiest Way To Cook Vegetables
Vegetables have plenty of vitamins, nutrients and should be a primary part of your diet along with fruits, meats, and grains. If your vegetables are improperly prepared they can be less nutritious and not as healthy to consume. I demonstrate a way to cook your vegetables without losing important vitamins and minerals your body needs. Why dump your vitamins down your sink? Should we boil, steam or fry our vegetables? If you enjoy green beans and potatoes then you will love them even more when prepared this way. You may also try so many other vegetables, the sky is the limit! Royalty Free music by: Kevin MacLeod
vitamin supplements for teens?
to improve my performance in school i wanted to take some vitamin supplements
i was planning on taking
magnesium 150 mg
vitamin E 250 IU
Vitamin C 250 mg
B1 (Thiamine) 15 mg
B2 (Riboflavin) 10 mg
B6 (Pyridamine) 5 mg
Folic Acid 200 micrograms
B12 - 50 micrograms
If it would help I have my average day's food below:
B
1 Bowl Cheerios, 2 egg whites
L
2 PBJ sandwiches, nuts, yogurt
S
Apple or bannana, nuts
D
Meat (I usually have 2 1/2 card decks worth), salad, carrots, potatoes
I was going to take a regular centrum multivitamin along with that (but if you compare the numbers the multivitamin in insignificant). I checked some statistics on the safety threshhold of these vitamins (the level where there have been no reputable reported cases of harm) and the amounts I have are significantly below).
Is taking a lot of certain vitamins in proportion to others bad (would that cause an imbalance)?
Also, should I alter any of the amounts?
How often should I take them
