Best Vegetarian Recipes l Lentil Walnut Veggie Burgers
How to make Lentil Walnut Veggie Burgers Video. Veggie Burgers are a nutritional alternative to beef burgers. Many people don't think of making their own veggie burgers but they are really easy to make at home. Store bought veggie burgers are nutritional but often very high in sodium and preservatives. You can substitute the eggs in this recipe with "flax eggs" which are a mix of 6 tbsp ground flax to 2 tbsp boiling water. The milk in this recipe can be substituted with either soya milk or rice milk. This makes the recipe completely vegan! Lentils are high in fiber which makes them a good protector against bowel cancer. I recommend organic, low sodium lentils if you are buying canned. They are an excellent source of protein and are an important source of B vitamins, especially B3, which is essential for both a healthy nervous system and digestive system. They are high in iron, zinc and calcium and are a good replacement for red meat. Like meat, the iron in lentils is better absorbed when they are eaten with a good source of vitamin C like leafy green vegetables. Walnuts are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, a special type of fat that is essential for our bodies, but that the body cannot produce. (Re omega 3 see also flaxseeds.blogspot.com ) Walnuts are also a very good source of monounsaturated fats. Walnuts contain many powerful antioxidants, including ellagic and gallic acids, pus antioxidant phenols and vitamin E. The minerals copper and manganese are also ...

Saturated fats can also cause blood platelets to stick together and form blood clots that can cause a heart attack or stroke. Reducing consumption of saturated fat improves the health of most people. They provide support to your cell membranes and serve as precursors to a variety of hormones and hormonelike substances. A middle of the road approach to saturated fat consumption is to consume about 3 to 7 percent of your daily calories as saturated fat. -- Don't Be Afraid of Natural Fat That's right, the kind that's found in a piece of meat, an omelet, an avocado, olives, or olive-oil-based dressing. Because fat alone doesn't raise your insulin levels, it has little to do with making you fat, contrary to popular opinion, says Valerie. How am I doing in this diet, current diet is 1200 Calories with plenty of excercise and vitamins.?
Hey everyone, looking for good detailed answers...
Since November I started this diet, of 1200 Calories per day.
I eat a nutrigran bar for afternoon with a fruit like a banana or apple and then for evening for dinner I drink my Syntha-6 Protein shake before my workout, usually with a banana or something blended in.
I workout both morning and night with the following routine...
30 Minutes of Treadmill
Then I have specific days of excersises I do on my Bowflex machine (which they are fine)
I also take the following pills:
Flaxseed and Fish oil pills before both meals, 1 of each.
Men's Daily multivitamin pill 3 times daily at morning, mid-day, and before bed.
Also now taking Pyrogenal and L-Argine supplement before workouts.
What I am really getting to is that if I am getting enough nutriants even tho I have plenty of vitamins and what not... which all contain the essential omega, vitamin a-d, folic acid and what not.
Should I be a bit more flexible? What do you think I should add?
I have lost 50 pounds. I weighed 230 in october and now I weigh 180.
I am looking great, but now its time to focus on what should change. This diet MIGHT actually be a 1,000 calorie diet with loads of vitamins tho....
I also go to bed at 11:00PM and wake at about 6:20 AM sleeping wise. Sometimes go to bed at 12:00 at night.
Maybe some links to sites I can further explain my issue too.
Also drink water and green tea only.
