Why do they say to take melatonin and vitamin b6 before bed?

Shouldn't vitamin b6 keep you awake? What's the science behind it? For the past week I've been taking b6 and melatonin before bed and I'm having pretty wacked up dreams. It does help me fall asleep, but I wake up around 6 AM and can't fall back asleep for about 30 mins. Is it safe to keep taking?

What vitamins should I be taking?

I am trying to be more healthy and personally hate doctors. Is there a general concoction of vitamins that are good for people to take? I just bought a bottle of vitacraves about a week ago and have been taking those since but of course don't really notice a difference. I also take melatonin but am possibly looking for something else to help me fall asleep because I think I am getting use to the dose I am taking. Thanks :)

help me choose vitamin supplements?

I'm 21, college student with overload school schedule, my bad eating habit is that I don't like veggie and milk. I'm considering some supplements but there are many kinds of them, I'm afraid that taking to many vitamins will harm my body.
for sure I will take:
Omega 3
Calcium, people said that it should come with Vit-D

the others I'm considering are:
multivitamins
balanced B
Vitamin A (working on computer a lot!)
potassium (my psy class taught me that we need K+ & Na+ for neurons 'firing' process, I don't like banana by the way)
melatonin 3mg (I'm high energy at night, trying to change my body clock, can naturally stay up until 6am if I don't want to sleep)
magnesium
zinc
Vit-C
Vit-E
folic acid with DHA
CoQ10

By the way, I'm currently moving from south to north, literally, from year round warm weather to a brutal winter place. Unfortunately, I have to take classes from a CC and my Uni which add up to 26 credits. Please give me advice on what supplements I should take that benefit me, keep myself physical and mentally healthy, especially for the cold days coming.
Thank you very much.

im taking alot of supplements for weight loss, and muscle building. can taking to many supplements hurt me?

im pretty positive everything in the individual supplements is fairly safe. im not taking any brand names, all pure subtances, such as arginine, carnitine, CLA, green tea extract, forskolin, BCAAs, multi vitamin, calcium, selenium, caffeine, sesamin, tyrosine, beta alanine, glutamine, creatine, protein, ZMA, fish oil, beta alanine, melatonin, 5-HTP, probiotics, digestive enzymes and fiber. i can find plenty of information detailing the dangers and benefits of each kind of supplement. but nothing addressing the dangers of taking so many pills and powders all at the same time. it comes out to over 80 servings of pills or powders a day. im just wondering what kind of effects this can have on me. i feel normal. alittle fuller than usual. but i definitely feel stronger and more energetic and im losing weight. i lift 6 days a week. cardio 4 days a week and i box, and im on a full 6-7 meals a day, 2300 calorie diet thats very high in protein. so i was wondering if this was dangerous?
