Betty’s Healthy and Natural Granola Bars Recipe

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Healthy and Natural Granola Bars. These granola bars have oats, nuts, brown sugar, honey, melted butter, and a sprinkling of salt--all natural ingredients--no additives that you find in commercial cereal bars. Betty also gives her philosophy of eating healthy foods. Ingredients: 4 cups quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked 1 cup chopped nuts (I used 1/3 cup sliced almonds, 1/3 cup chopped pecans, and 1/3 cup English walnuts.) 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2/3 cup butter or margarine, melted 1/3 cup light corn syrup (You may use honey.) 1/2 teaspoon salt cooking oil spray Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, and mix well. Press into a 15 1/4-inch by 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan that has been sprayed with cooking oil. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. (Mixture will be brown and bubbly. I cooked my granola bars 10 minutes in this demonstration, but they were a little over-brown; 8 minutes would have been better.) Cool. Cut into bars and serve on a serving plate or store in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks. They stay fresh for a very long time! These granola bars contain *only* healthy ingredients and are a great choice over a candy bar, which generally has no nutritional value! They taste great, also! I hope you get a chance to try them!!! --Betty :)

Aspartame – It puts the DIE in Diet Soda + 6000 other products

Aspartame: Is the sweet taste worth the harm? www.foodmatters.tv You can't imagine how hard soft drinks sweetened with Aspartame are on your body. A must-see for anybody with a sweet tooth, this exposé reveals the dangers of Aspartame consumption. Americans constantly obsess over the latest diet fads and skinny trends, yet we're one of the unhealthiest nations on the planet. According to the US Surgeon General, obesity plagues more than 30% of Americans, killing over 300000 people every year! Heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are also all on the rise, with one of the main culprits in this disturbing trend being sugar. Almost 20% of our daily calorie intake comes from refined white sugar. That works out to about 150 pounds of sugar per year! Consumed in small amounts, sugar actually helps your metabolism and supplies a quick boost of energy. In excess, sugar adds nothing but empty calories to your body. Many people have recognized this and now opt for sugar free alternatives, allowing for the rise of the artificial sugar industry. The most prevalent artificial sugar in our food supply today is called aspartame, which is also recognized as NutraSweet or Equal. Aspartame has made its way into more than 6000 products including almost all diet sodas, chewing gum, frozen desserts, yogurt, and even vitamins and cough drops. 200 times sweeter than sugar, aspartame is a combination of two amino acids: aspartic acid and phenylalanine. Even though the safety of aspartame has been ...

How to make a homemade face serum?

I am 20 years old, and yes this may sound rather young to start thinking about anti-aging, but I figure...why not? I already have a few faint lines in my forehead that are randomly red, as I think they may be sleep wrinkles (UGH?!)

And with the economy, I'd rather hold on to my money and try to create something or buy like the main ingredients in most great serums instead of buying them for the retail/name-brand price.

What has great results? I was thinking something like AHA/Glycolic Acid or ... just keep going to sephora and getting samples every week haha!?

What do you think? I have tried the following as masks but as far as actual serum serums I don't know how to make them serums or if I shoudl use stuff like vitamin C extract?

Honey
Egg whites
olive oil
milk
tee tree oil

what do you think? thanks :)

What's the best home-made beauty product you know how to make?

Example: Facial Masks, Facial scrubs, Ingredients for the softest hair, or the shiniest hair etc. Please: all answers must contain ingredients found in everyday households, like from the kitchen or vitamins, or stuff from the medicine cabinet. Also, please don't just make them up. Mine is a Sugar Face Scrub.. its 1tblsp. granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp. of honey, an egg, and a drop of milk. Mix together (but not beat) gently in a large bowl. Massage into face, and let sit for 10 minutes. Then rinse off, wait for another 10 minutes and then wash (very gently) with moisturizer. I hope to hear some great home-made recipes!

Follow up to the GOOD WEED!!! video

Prego women please do not take this tea!!! I am taking this around 130pm You'll need (in about 1/2 tsp portions) Oolong tea leaves -middle ground in caffeine level Dandelion leaves-One of dandelion leafs greatest claims to fame is its ability to purify the blood and body organs. It is a wonderful liver cleaner and increases the output of the liver, the flow of bile into the intestines and the activity of the pancreas and spleen. This makes it a great treatment for hepatitis, yellow jaundice, and other liver related problems. By purifying the blood, it helps with some types of anemia. The acids in the blood that build up with weight loss are destroyed by dandelion. It also helps with low blood pressure, and builds energy and endurance. Nettle-Nettle is also a natural diuretic. It helps the body eliminate uric acid and bacteria that cause urinary tract infections (UTIs) and kidney stones. The diuretic action of nettle may also help lower blood pressure and relive premenstrual bloating. Plantain-Plantain is very high in beta carotene (A) and calcium. It also provides ascorbic acid (C), and vitamin K. Among the more notable chemicals found in plantain are allantion, apigenin, aucubin, baicalein, linoleic acid, oleanolic acid, sorbitol, and tannin. Together these constituents are thought to give plantain mild anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antihemorrhagic, and expectorant actions. Acubin has been reported in the Journal Of Toxicology as a powerful anti-toxin. Allantoin has ...
