Can you overdose on Vitamins?

I bought St. John's Wort 300mg for mood support, Valerian Root 450mg for promoting relaxation, Green Tea Extract 315mg for antioxidant support, essential multiple vitamins, & Fish Oil 1000mg for heart health. I want to take a Valerian Root (I never took one before) & I'm scared to take it because I already took all the Vitamins above. I took 2 Fish Oil Vitamins. Any advice?

Would this work to help with acne and acne scars? #2?

Key Ingredients:

Vitamin A is important for the prevention of night blindness and other eye problems, as well as some skin disorders, such as acne. It is also important in the formation of bones and teeth. Numerous other benefits include maintenance and repair of epithelial tissue, of which skin and mucous membranes are (1) composed, protection against infections, and antioxidant cell protection.

Vitamin B Complex: Eight different nutrients make up the Vitamin B Complex: Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine, Cyanocobalamin, Biotin, and Folic Acid. Though grouped as a family, they each perform unique and separate functions, which include enhancing the metabolic rate by breaking down fats, carbohydrates and protein for energy, and maintaining healthy nerves, skin, eyes, hair, liver, and brain function. They are important for heart health and are an effective aid in lowering cholesterol. B-complex vitamins also act as coenzymes, helping enzymes to react (2) chemically with other substances.

Vitamin C is critical for numerous metabolic functions, including tissue growth and repair, glandular functions, and healthy gums. It aids in the production of anti-stress hormones and interferon (an immune- system protein), and it can combine with toxic substances, such as certain heavy metals, and render them harmless so they can be eliminated from the body. Vitamin C works synergistically with Vitamins A and E; that is, when working together, they have a greater effect than the sum of their individual effects. Supplementation of this vitamin is critical, as the body cannot manufacture it.(3)

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin required for absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus. It is especially important for the growth and development of bones and teeth. It protects against muscle weakness and aids in heartbeat regulation.(4)

Lutein is an important antioxidant for eye and skin health. Research also suggests that Lutein found in blood serum may be linked with less thickening of arterial walls.(5)

Lycopene is a phytochemical found to reduce the risk of prostate and lung cancer. With correct dosages, Lycopene may also reduce the risk of digestive cancers.

Astaxanthin eases arthritis and joint pain, sore muscles, and protects against heart disease. It is a potent antioxidant derived from micro algae. Because it crosses the blood/brain barrier, it offers oxidative protection for the nervous system.

Zeaxanthin protects cells in the eyes from free radical damage, which may reduce the risk of macular degeneration.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is a powerful antioxidant that aids in protecting the liver and pancreas.(6)

Green Tea Leaf Extract is used to lower cholesterol levels, stimulate the immune system, and regulate blood sugar and insulin levels.

Amino Acid Complex important for metabolic functions, such as helping the brain receive and send messages. Facilitates the absorption and assimilation of vitamins and minerals by the body.

Herbal Energy Blend (Peppermint leaf, Rhodiola rosea root, Eleuthero): Promotes stress-relieving effects for added energy, which contribute to immune system enhancement. Also aids in digestion.

Nutrition 101 with Joan O’Keefe, RD

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You will notice marked improvements in mood and energy, with fewer cravings for junk food, when you eat a breakfast that is high in water, protein, good carbs (loaded with antioxidants), and healthy fats. What does breakfast do? Breakfast boosts our metabolism. Many people who struggle with their weight often skip breakfast altogether or have a light breakfast. As we age our metabolism get slower. One way to boost our metabolism is to eat breakfast. Breakfast boosts our metabolism because it gets the fires burning for the day. Breakfast gets the metabolism nice and high so we burn calories through out the day. Breakfast also fuels our brains and our bodies. Our brain only runs on one nutrient and that is glucose. In the morning our glucose levels are at a low normal. We need to refuel so we can think, learn and test. Not only does this apply to adults, but certainly to the children in our lives. is there any problem, if someone at age 20 take one day mens' 50+ advantage?

i am just wondering if there is any side effects if someone at age 20 take one-a-day mens' 50+ advantage ..i know its made for 50 and above ..but i am just curious to know .here is the description comparison:

One-A-Day® Men's 50+ Advantage contains twice the Lycopene and five times the Selenium of Centrum® Silver® to support prostate health and it provides key nutrients to support heart health, eye health, and healthy blood pressure.* Plus, it contains Ginkgo to promote memory and concentration.*

i mean the extra vitamins are there to help those areas of health that i'm worried about anyway in the future (prostate cancer, vision getting worse, memory) so would there be any negative consequences?

on the othe rhand i find that if i don't eat pretty heavily before taking these, it upsets my stomach slightly.

Taking vitamins and fiber at the same time?

I take many different vitamins (Centrum multivitamin, garlic pills [for heart health], fish oil capsules [for healthy hair and skin], and biotin pills). I also eat either Kashi cereal or Shredded Wheat, both of which are high in fiber, plus a high fiber granola bar. Just wondering, is it bad to take so many vitamins with so much fiber at the same time? I just thought that maybe the fiber would cause me to not fully digest my vitamins.

How is a Heart Attack Treated?

Dr. Aaron Grantham, interventional Cardiologist, explains what happens during a heart attack, how a heart attack is treated in the hospital, and what drugs are used. Dr. Grantham also explains what is happening to the patient as they are taken off the ambulance and into the cath lab - cardiac catheterization lab - for treatment as well as when they are taken to the CCU - coronary Care Unit. It is not uncommon for a patient to continue feeling symptoms of a heart attack until the artery has been opened for examination. An emergency angioplasty will be performed on the patient in order to remove the plaque clogging the artery. A sheath will be used to help insert a catheter so that digital images of the heart and its surroundings can be recorded. A balloon catheter and stent will be inserted in order to open the blockage and restore the blood flow through the artery. After the emergency angioplasty, the patient will be transferred from the care of the interventional cardiologist to his cardiology partner in the CCU. The sheath will remain in the patient until the IV anti-coagulation medication has had time to reverse. The nursing staff will constantly assess the patient's heart rhythm, blood pressure, general well-being, and assess of the groin area throughout his stay in the hospital. The length of stay in the CCU varies depending upon medical circumstances; however the average length of stay in the hospital is between three and five days. Upon dismissal, your loved one ...
