Sig P239: Solid Rep, Fast Shooter

Once considered a compact pistol option, the Sig P239 understandably has many faithful followers. It remains an well-proven design. That's because the P239 shares many of the excellent characteristics of its larger stablemates like the P225, P228, and P226. Expect excellent accuracy, a fine single action trigger (once transitioned from DA in firing), great sights, lots of accessory options, superb reliability, excellent fit and finish, and the ability to do quick follow up shots. This speed in firing is partially due to the substantial 29.5 oz weight. That's a lot for a gun that just provides 8+1 rounds of firepower. Moreover the carry package is no longer competitive in the compact category, given today's more size-efficient competitors like the Kahr PM9/40 or Kel-Tec PF-9. Those guns offer similar firepower with substantially less weight and bulk. So don't expect the P239 to function in the officers backup role really; its just too heavy and bulky. However as a primary CCW or off-duty gun the P239 will excel when paired with a well-designed holster (shoulder or IWB preferred). Many fans have found that the additional bulk and weight is a good thing and enhance the outstanding shootability of the P239. Ergos on the gun, like most Sigs, are excellent and many female shooters will love the smaller grip circumference (and lessened recoil compared to other polymer guns). Add in a super simple takedown and high retained resale values and the attraction to the P239, even today ...

Serious Sam: TFE Sacred Yards Part One {Secret Level} [All Secrets Found]

Level: Sacred Yards {Secret Level} (Part One) Difficulty: Normal Secrets: Ten After ignoring Netricsa's request to get to The Great Pyramid as soon as possible, Sam stumbles across the legendary Sacred Yards after taking a detour out of Luxor much to Netricsa's disdain. The curse of Fraps strikes again! I ended up recording this part at thirty frames a second instead of twenty-five which is why the video looks like its gone though a blender sometimes if my field of view moves quickly. I managed to re-render it as best I could. Honest. The anti-gravity perimeter room was pretty damn hard. I hate miniature versions of Juvenile Arachnoids, they cause me nothing but hassle. It also doesn't help that they're really tiny, hard to hit, and aren't much good for my blood pressure. At 6:10, the videos skips slightly because the original recording crashed because of my damned anti-virus having a fit. So, I had to re-record this part from that point again. Apologies for the less than impressive video editing once more. Small tip for the unwashed masses; if you don't kill the Adult Arachnoid at 2:10 quickly, it will disappear and will then reappear in the next area, at 3:45, when the door opens. ---------------------------------------- Secret One: In the first room you come across with water, shoot the spire monument with a Rocket (2:37). The platform underneath it will slide open revealing some Secret Health and some Aludran Reptiloids. Secret Two: In the area with the first Gold ...

Danger Zone – Red Bull Air Race

Changes in gravity pull which occur when accelerating or decelerating are referred to as G's. The first noticeable physical effect is the force of gravity acting on the body. There are two types of G -- positive G, which the pilots experience as they pull the controls back and negative G which happens when the pilots carry out inverted or upside down manoeuvres. The number of G's is measured on a multiple of 1 G which is the normal compression force on our body that holds us to the earth, enabling us to stand on the ground. An increase to 2 G's would double the force or weight on the body. The closest a regular human being will have come to experiencing the effects of positive G's is most likely on a roller coaster or driving quickly over steep hills. Most manoeuvres in the Red Bull Air Race involve a much higher level of G-force of between 3 and 10 G. So what exactly are the physical effects of G-force? The whole body feels heavy, it takes effort to raise the arms and the head will try to drop down on to the chest with the cheeks hanging down near the jaw. To counteract this, a person will tense their neck and stomach muscles to try and stop the blood flow. "The ugly facial expressions are all part of the straining process the body goes through to survive the high G-forces" explains Mangold, "It's very similar to boxing; lots of hard blows while the body stays tense most of the time in anticipation of being hit". The circulatory system has difficulty maintaining proper ...
