How long before your hair stops falling out since taking vitamins?
I had a problem with my hair falling out for over a year, so I went to the doctor and he gave me a prescription for a vitamin B6, B12, Folic Acid, and Protein. About how long will I have to take these vitamins before my hair stops shedding?
I was just diagnosed with with Factor 5 Leiden and MTHFR, anyone else have this?
After having 2 m/c's my doctor ordered some blood test. I went in to speak with him yesterday and he told me that i have Factor 5 Leiden and MTHFR. He said i will need to start taking extra Folic Acid and baby asprin everyday. I am already taking a prenatal vitamin and vitamin d. I will also have to have shots everyday through out my pregnancy so i don't get blood clots and for 6 weeks after the baby is born. He said that the Factor 5 Leiden is genetic so i got it from 1 of my parents. He also said i can never take birth control pill. He also said this is common and a lot of women have this, 1 in 8. Is there anyone else who has this? Will i still be able to have a healthy baby? I am kind of scared and i have been trying to research about this so any info or advice would help! Thanks!
Thank you so much for being so positive for me! I am scared to death about this. The doctor said that taking the extra folic acid and baby asprin should help a lot! I also won't have to start the shots until about 8 weeks of pregnancy. He said as soon as we see the heartbeat we can start the shots. So we are taking December off to relax and we are going to start TTC in January! How is Mia doing?

is this a good brand of prenatal vitamins?
It is" nature's bounty your life multi prenatal vitamins". I bought them at CVS, I am not pregnant, but I might become pregnant and heard it is better to start taking the vitamins before time if you may become pregnant. Are these okay? I says they have 100% of DHA and folic acid and that it has 200mg of DHA.. Thank you all very much.
Supplement mixture, any dangers, warnings, or suggestions for better methods?
First off, I'll start by saying that I have Vitiligo, so Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, and Folic Acid are a mixture I've been told can help the condition, my body has trouble absorbing them. Never the less, I started taking these supplements which I'll list with their dosages. My question is in several parts because I don't know much about supplements. First, the mixture I will describe below, is it in any way dangerous? Any warning(s) you might have for me? Secondly, I know B12 is as difficult vitamin to absorb, especially for someone who likely has a hard time absorbing it to begin with. Will taking a B12 lozenge work, or should I just jump right in and go for the shots? Thanks in advance for the help, and below is the list and dosages
1) Vitamin B12 Lozenge 1000 mcg (1 daily)
2) Lutein 6 mg (1 daily)
3) Folic Acid 800 mcg (2 daily)
4) Milk Thistle Extract 175 mg (2 daily)
5) Vitamin C Chewable 500 mg (2 daily)
6) Flax Seed Oil 1000 mg (2 daily)
7) Veggie Complete (2 daily) -no dosage given-
8) Fruit Complete (2 daily) -no dosage given-
Thanks!
cold sore-genital transmission?
hi i had an EXTREMELY mild "cold sore". it was not sore, open, never tingled, never itched, and its practically healed at this moment, and did not even seem to carry liquid [not really a blister]. i also take vitamins to boost my immune system such as lysine, vits a, c , e, folic acid among a few others. i treated it religiously with dial soap, zinc cream and this skin mineral. like i said its very mild. yesterday i got intimate with this guy, and i BRIEFLY licked his penis 2x, away from the corner of my mouth. assuming this is a cold sore, what are his chances of contracting something? its very mild and the contact was veryy brief.
the infected part of my skin didnt touch him, and like i said 20x it was barely a cold sore...and this is the 3rd day and its gone practically [at least seems like it] and we didnt kiss, corner of my lip did not touch anywhere once or that side of my mouth for that matter. im very worried tho. does anyone know or opinions?
i recently went to the gyn and am fine and taking care of myself really well.
What can I add to my smoothies to make them nutritionally complete? ?
Because of very severe food allergens, I've had to resort to making my own smoothies to eat. I have other health problems resulting from poor nutrition. I've also had alot of damage to my stomach, esophagus, and duodenum.
This are the liquid supplements that I add to my smoothies:
Flax Seed Oil (For the EFA)
DHA
ARA
L-Arginine
L-Carnitine
Taurine
Vitamins
Minerals
Protein (from brown rice)
Extra Liquid B's
Probiotics
Folic Acid
Is there anything else that I can add to my smoothies to make them more nutritionally complete?
P.S. I don't eat meat, eggs, dairy (im allergic to milk), corn (I'm allergic), potatoes, refined sugar, gluten ( I have celiac diease), salt or salty foods (I have meiners diease). I don't eat anything that is processed.
Urine NOT changing color?
My urine is NOT changing color when I take multi vitamins. I know in the past it has which is normal, but it doesn't now. I take a Women's one a day, a VB12 sup, an iron sup, and a folic acid sup. Still, no urine change. Does that mean my body is craving all that and needs it (so it's not getting rid of it in the urine?)
prenatal vitamins make me nauseous…?
Its advised to take them on a full stomach to avoid feeling sick afterwards, but thing is, this pregnancy of mine already makes me quite nauseous most of the time, and I can never eat so much that my stomach becomes full (for if it does, I get nauseous!) To get around this problem I eat often and little. However, that means I am never really with a full stomach, even after eating, and that means that whenever I take my prenatal vitamins, I feel really sick.
Should I just go off prenatal vitamins altogether, or is there another way of doing this? I live in England, and my GPs are all not pro-supplementation. They're like "You don't have to take prenatal vitamins. All you need is to eat a good diet, and extra folic acid during the first trimester and iron supps. if you're anaemic." But I've always been a small woman and underweight, and I get anaemic during pregnancy, shouldn't I take supplements to ensure that baby is well-nourished???
