How am I going to get my Vitamin D?
I hate the smell, the look, the taste. Everything about it. But how am I supposed to get Vitamin D if I don't drink milk or be in the sun long enough!
Can Vitamin D deficiency cause hair loss?
Can Vitamin D deficiency cause hair loss?
I've been experiencing gradual hair thinning for close to 2 years now. It's not very noticeable to others, but it is to me. During those two years, a little over a year ago my mom passed away.. prior to that I dropped out of school to take care of her so I was experiencing a lot of stress during the past two years. (I'm 20 by the way.) I went to the doctor's recently, and my ferretin levels (iron stores) were at about 20.7 with a reference range of 11-370.. so it's on the low end. My doctor prescribed 975 mg of ferrous sulfate a day, with 500 mg of vitamin c for better absorption. I've been taking it for a month, and have noticed my hair looking a little healthier... but, I haven't noticed any regrowth. During the past two years, I've become somewhat of a homebody.. while I was taking care of my mom I rarely went out, and after she passed, I was severely depressed and stayed in ALL the time. Only recently have I been getting out a little more, but still not that much. I haven't gotten my Vitamin D levels checked yet, but considering the circumstances (I don't drink milk, get out in the sun rarely, and live in the NW) I feel like I might be low in Vitamin D as well.
I'd like to know if anyone has experienced hair thinning due to Vitamin D deficiency and if it has gotten better from taking supplements. I've read online that Vit D deficiency can cause hair loss, but I'd like to hear a real experience with it.
Thanks :)

Loose skin..and massive weight loss?
See, over a years time so far I've lost 100 pounds. I still have 100 more to go before I'm at my goal weight. Which is reasonable, don't worry. :P
I have lost it slowly though, 10 pounds a month. Or even 8 pounds a month. I am still young. (18). I lotion my skin every day.. drink plenty of water.. and I take vitamins so that I know I'm getting them. I also make sure I eat my meat and drink milk to get protein and calcium.
But I'm noticing that my skin looks like it MIGHT be saggy once I'm done. It's a little wrinkly. If I stretch out the parts that seem that way, they do go back into place.. but they take longer than they should. Comparing to the back of my hand n' such, which snaps right back.
I don't know.. should I be worried about it?
Oh, and I also drink lots of water. Water, juice, and milk are the only things I even like. :P
Has anyone had success losing weight by adding Vitamin D and Calcium supplements?
I'm lactose intolerant and don't eat much dairy, so my doctor thinks I might be vitamin D deficient. I know that vitamin D aids in the absorption of calcium, and I've heard that calcium and D taken together can facilitate weight loss (and that a vitamin D deficiency can cause weight gain). I have extra weight that appeared suddenly and I can't get rid of it (it's not a medical problem; I've had my thyroid checked).
Does anyone have experience with losing weight after taking calcium and/or vitamin D?
@Ash: I'm lactose intolerant. That's why I don't drink milk, and that's why I have a calcium and vitamin D deficiency. I've read studies regarding calcium and cancer, and I disagree with your statement. But my actual question still stands unanswered.
@Ash again: Thank you for the information, but none of it answers my question.
Lack of milk or nurtient does it effect hair loss?
I just wondering if lack of vitamins and lack of drinking milk does it effect hair loss? I'm 20 now and since I was little I don't really drink milk. But I eat others nurtientions food for the vitamins. Does it effect hair loss? I have very very thin hair and everytime I wash my hair seems like I'm losing a lot? What is the best way to stay helathy hair?
what are the best vitamins and supplements to take each day?
im 32, pretty overweight a bit , have never really had a fixed diet for years , i eat as of when i need, but rarely cook food but instead try to eat healthy sandwiches, drink milk, cut down on fast foods etc - what im saying is i dont have a regular fixed diet and haven't done for a long time - i have bad anxiety and depression which makes it difficult to motivate myself to cook.
i need to no what are the best vitamins and supplements that i should get to take daily ?
i bought some omega fish oils with starflower and flaxeed oils. but i was reading else where there are others you should take to but the article i was reading was to vague and not precise.
i learned q 10 is good, garlic tablets , a multivitamin , vitamin b complex - but there are so many views its hard to know just exactly what to buy - can anyone help with it ?
What kind of vitamins should I take?
I was told to start taking vitamins for my health but I don't know what kind to buy. I'm seventeen years old. I don't eat red meat (beef, ham) or fish. I don't drink milk either. I don't do anything physically active other than gym class and surfing occasionally. your answers would be very helpful.
What are each of these vitamins best for?
B12
B6
flaxseed oil
triple omega (safflower &olive oils, fish&flaxseed)
fish oil with omega 3
vitamin C
Vitamin D
Vitamin E
folic acid
calcium
B complex
Biotin
These are all the vitamins I saw at the store and I don't know which ones I should get.
I don't drink milk, but I do have yogurt & cheese pretty often. I am pretty regular with fruits and veggies but I could definitely be better. I eat a decent amount of meat. I don't know I am generally healthy, so what vitamins are best to take? I don't ever have fish. i don't really like it. Umm... i do get acne, so i think i might need more vitamin C. So yeah idk what is best to take? Is it bad to take too many vitamins?
