can your period raise/lower blood sugar ?

i am 24. i just found out im type 2 last Feb. i was on the depo shot for 8 years. i didn't get a period when i was on it. i stopped my injections right around the time i found out i was diabetic. the last couple months ive been slowly getting my period back. spotting and cramps for a couple days. but ive noticed that my blood sugar is all over the place. i feel like im low all the time. but when i eat, it jumps around like crazy. is this normal? i know it may sound like a stupid question. but i haven't had a period in 8 years. and i just found out im diabetic less then a year ago. just during those few days when its that time of the month i feel like crap. hot then cold.. headaches.. sick to my stomach.. i cant tell if its my period or diabetes symptoms.

i eat right.. take my meds like im told.. my last a1c was good. 5.5.. i havent been to a doctor recently to ask questions about it. i stopped the birthcontrol hoping to get pregnant eventually. but no hurry. im taking vitamins with iron and folic acid. so no other problems.

Dr Whiting on Diabetes and Hypoglycemia

There are many potential complications from diabetes, including neuropathy, amputations, increased cardiovascular risks, kidney damage, cholesterol elevation and heart attacks. Neuropathy is the destruction of nerve endings, mostly in the hands and feet leading to numbness. Over time circulation may be impaired, reducing the bodys ability to heal wounds of the extremities. This circulation damage can systemic, affecting the entire arterial and venal systems. One of the most damaging diabetes side effects is to the kidneys. Over time, elevated blood sugar and insulin levels can damage kidneys beyond repair. The majority of amputations performed in all hospitals are directly related to diabetes. Diabetes so damages the circulation that even the smallest wounds can fail to heal, leading to amputations. Almost every diabetic has problems with cholesterol elevation. This is due to the diseases effect on the liver. Elevated cholesterol and diabetes is caused when the liver becomes toxic, from free radicals, and can no longer regulate cholesterol levels. Type II diabetics are also at a much higher risk for heart attacks. All of these complications can be greatly reduced or even eliminated by gaining control over blood sugar and insulin levels. The symptoms revolving around both diabetes and hypoglycemia are often referred to as syndrome X. These include elevated cholesterol, blood pressure, and often a severe overweight situation. When excess insulin is produced its primary ...

12 Tips for Reversing Diabetes (Type 2), Reducing Blood Sugar, Preventing Metabolic Syndrome

Recommendations You can stabilize blood sugar levels and optimize your long-term health by: 1) Reversing Damage - Years of high Glycemic food consumption and continual release of Insulin into the bloodstream have caused damage your body and some degree of Insulin Resistance to take hold. To help reverse this, AyurGold releases hundreds of phytonutrients that act at the molecular level to stimulate endocrine cells found in the pancreas, incite the Islets of Langerhans to generate key enzymes responsible for regulating blood sugar in the body, increase glucose utilization, improve glucose metabolism, inhibit glucose output from the liver, reverse abnormal lipid profiles seen in people with high blood sugar, and help increase blood circulation to restore natural balance and harmony to your body. 2) Regularly Drink Water - Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water per day to avoid dehydration and help liberate fat stores to be burned as energy. 3) Eat 5 to 6 Small Meals Daily - Spreading food intake improves nutrient absorption, minimizes blood sugar fluctuations, and decreases fat-storing hormones and enzymes. 4) Carbohydrates - Consume low to moderate GI (Glycemic Index) carbohydrates at all times. All low GI diets are based on the same principle of balancing blood sugar. The foods which are restricted on low GI diets are those which cause your blood sugar and insulin levels to rise fast and high such as desserts and refined sugars. This results in more food being converted ...
