I just started taking 8000 mcg of biotin a day..Is this too much?
my dermatologist recommended 2500 mcg of biotin a day for healthy hair & nails..i could only find the 300 mcg biotin supplements at the local health store..so i got the higher dose biotin pills online from thorne research..its a single dose of 8000 mcg which i take at lunch time along with some b-complex vitamins. will this be safe and effective?
How many mcg's of biotin is enough?
My mom told me her dermatologist recommended she take 2500 mcg, but the only place that sell's that amount is GNC. I work at a beauty and drug store and we have 5000 mcg biotin vitamins. Which one's are ok to take? I'm 25 years old.
Moisturizer plus acne?
I have terrible acne, and even worse acne scarring. The kind that would probably qualify as a "before" photo in a ProActive commercial.
I've never used a moisturizer until two months ago, because I always thought it would clog my pores more.
My stepmother suggested that I probably try some, because of the 100 degree heat here.
So I did. I got Clean & Clear moisturizer and after about a week of using it (followed the directions exactly) I noticed it started making me break out even more.
Do I even need a moisturizer? I'm not sure if this stuff works by making you break out at first, and then it slowly starts working and the breakouts become less like a lot of products do.
Is there one under that you've tried that doesn't cause breakouts or clog pores (I'm on a really tight budget these days)?
As far as my acne goes, I've tried tons of products: literally every single thing on the grocery store's shelves, ProActive, Murad, prescribed creams from my doctor (four total), and other little "home remedy" tips and tricks from other people's suggestions.
Right now I'm following a remedy from Acne.org, using baking soda 2-3 times a week and rubbing Vitamin E on my face every night and every morning.
I'm washing my face with Neutrogena and I really like how soft it makes my face feel.
Is there anything else you could recommend for acne that doesn't cost a lot (under )?
Thanks!
I visited a dermatologist for three years, once every month or every other month, but I had to stop because it started to get a little pricey.
I've tried Accutane, that dried out my skin WAY too much, to where it was very painful and my skin would crack in a few areas.
I've decided that it might be best to tackle this on my own without a doctor or dermatologist, since they all seem to say the same things, and I know all of it already.

Mixing glycolic acid with salicylic acid?
Hi, I am on a face program that I've had for about 4-5 months now. At first, my acne seemed to be clearing up, but now there's no difference. My face looks just as bad as it did before I started the treatment..if not worse. As a matter of fact, I did my face program that I bought from the dermatologist MADE special BY that particular dermatologist's office, and woke up this morning with yet ANOTHER "blemish". I just read this morning that you cannot use retinol, glycolic acid (aka AHA's), vitamin C, and benzoyl peroxide because it will cause inflammation to your face.
The routine that I bought from the dermatologist's office has an active ingredient of Salicylic acid 2% and inactive ingredient Glycolic acid 5%. I also have a every-night program to put retinol on my face. Is the mixture of Salicylic acid and Glycolic acid causing my face to break out? Also, is the retinol not doing any benefit, too?
Thank you for your help:)
How to dramatically reduce pores, blackheads/whiteheads?
I am going back into commercial work; perfect skin is critical. I use Aveeno skin brightening daily scrub every other day, neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask as a mask every few days on my chin, nose, and between my brows (where I get the pores and black/whiteheads of course), aveeno clear complexion foaming wash twice a day, and c.booth balancing facial cleanser sometimes as well. I moisturize with aveeno positiviely radiant daily facial moisturizer with SPF 30 every morning, and occaisionally use the color from Chanel's tinted moisturizer with SPF 15. I have very, very fair skin and am about to start a freckle fading/intense vitamin C treatment, as well as other serums and moisturizers from c.booth, No.7 and Chanel. I am not trying to avoid going to a dermatologist, but I do want to know what you guys have tried (or heard of) that really does the job of getting rid of those brownish pores on the nose as well as blackheads on the chin and between the brows. Any dermatologist/product recommendations? I have red hair and blue eyes and light freckles, accordingly pretty sensitive skin. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THROUGH ALL OF THIS (wow I talked a lot) and I will definitely get 10 points to the best answer soon!

Help with finding skin care that doesn't make me break out!?
Since high school I have used a lot of different skin care products, usually the higher end like estee lauder, clinique, merle norman etc. I never could use grocery/drug store type because I would breakout.
I use something for a few months with great success, and then all of a sudden it stops working. Or, I immediately break out or get dry skin.
I have very sensitive skin, especially to vitamin C, so a lot of anti aging products bother me. I started using Neutrogena products a few months ago and I thought I had found the answer, but now my skin is becoming flaky and has slight red bumps, but not acne.
My question is, where can I go to find the right skin care? I'm tired of trying samples at counters and buying products only to return them. Does anyone have a skin issue and have found a solution, or should I just head to the dermatologist? I've tried natural products and they don't seem to help either.
What can I do?
If I start taking prenatal vitamins, will it help clear up my adult acne?
I'm not pregnant. I drink water all day long, everything I use is oil free, and I keep my hands away from my face. I've tried everything. Proactive, Accutane, and every other lotion, cream, and vitamin from the dermatologist. If I take prenatal vitamins, will it help clear up my acne? I'm desperate
