How to grow out long hair?

I have been trying forever to grow my hair out long. I literally do anyting i find out about. I dont wash my hair everyday, i massage my scalp everyday, i use nothing but a wide toothed comb after/in the shower, i use mane and tail shampoo and sometimes the conditioner, i take vitamins including biotin, and tomorrow im goinh to the store to get a deep conditioner for my hair (i want the aussie three minute miracle because i heard it works well) and i get my hair trimmes every six weeks but it just will not grow! I do straighten my hair almost every day but i always always always use a heat protectant and i have a ghd which has special technology which you can read about...not here. I simply cant go without straightening my hair and im not explaining. I just cant. I have retarded inconsistent frizzy curls. Bottom line is i take amazing care of my hair and it just wont grow. I even braid it overnight sometimes because i heard it makes your hair grow. Please i am so desperate for long hair i will take any advice.

How to nourish dehydrated, frizzy, fried hair?

I've dyed my hair a bit too much, and though it's been 3 months since I last dyed it, I still shed like a cat.
And when I DON'T use a straightener, it's a wavy, curly, frizzy, coarse feeling, MESS.
When I do it's super soft...but I'd rather not keep losing my hair please.
I also try not to straighten my hair much. (not more than 1 or 2x a week.)
And I wash It every 2-3 days.
I use two conditioners, one of which is supposedly a 'deep' conditioner..It's by Garnier Fructis....
Would taking vitamins help?
Or do I need to go get a professional Protein and deep conditioning treatment performed at a salon?
Homemade remedies, or store bought remedies would be useful.
I have thick hair, original light brown, dyed black. Cut about 5-6 inches below my shoulder, and in too many layers to count, starting at the top of my ears.

My hair went from light brown, to dark brown, to black, back to dark brown, to red/blonde, back to black, and then the roots re-dyed black again. All since late October, 2008.
I also went most of late june, early july without straightening it but once.
(it was for about 3 weeks, but no matter what I do, almost enough hair to clog the drain comes out every time i take a shower and run my fingers through my hair. :/ )
OH, I'm also looking to get my hair to grow out..
It was down to my waist early 2008, and i cut it off to my shoulders in march, 2008. :( I miss my long hair.

How to use bleach to get hair from DARK brown to Blonde….?

Okay. My Natural color is Light brown/dark blonde. I have been dyeing it Dark Brown with a touch of Dark burgundy Brown for almost 2 years. I decided recently that I'd like to go back to something closer to my natural color with heavy blonde highlights. I realized going from Dark brown to that would be really complicated so I decided it would be best to skip the highlights for now and maybe add them at a later date. So, my goal now is to go all blonde.

I used Ion color corrector to try and remove as much of the Dark brown as possible. As you can imagine the length of my hair stayed pretty dark. I waited two weeks and used the color corrector again.

Now a week later I bleached my hair once and it is of course orange. I've been slathering it with vitamin E oil and wearing a cap to bed. I haven't heat styled my hair once, I've been wearing a scarf on my head and using deep conditioner to keep it healthy throughout this process.

It's been two days since the first bleaching, and tonight I'm going to bleach it again...(only the length is orange btw my natural hair takes well to only one bleaching and goes white blonde after only ten minutes or so) I'm really hoping that this will be the last bleach job I have to do for now, especially because I have a wedding to attend on Saturday and I'd rather not have CRAZY colored hair.

so I just have a few questions like...

Should I use a 40 volume developer with my bleach tonight instead of 30?

If my hair is practically white from pre-lightening and I'm then dyeing it blonde could I use a lower volume developer like say 10 or 20?

Should I try to use a toner instead of regular permanent dye?

Does anyone have experience with bleaching their hair two or three or even more times in such a short period?

do you have any tips or suggestions that I may not have thought of?

Can Someone Give Me Hair Growing Advice? :)?

Right now my hair is about an inch below my collar bone, But i would like it to grow down to about the middle of my boob. My hair Grows really slow! Im 15 by the way...

~I know that applying heat to it is bad, but my hair is really thick and curly. it looks best when it is straightened. I also have it on a low heat setting, and always use a heat protector spray.

~I also trim the split and dry parts off

~I use a deep conditioner 2 times a week

I try to keep my hair healthy But it just wont grow! Is there any products like Conditioners, Treatments, vitamins, ext... you suggest that will help my hair gain length?

Questions about deep conditioners/colored hair?

Hi, i have a question about the garnier fructis 3 minute deep-conditioning mask (the one that comes in the circular tub)

my hair is naturally a dull brown color, but im italian w/ dark dark eyes, so i dyed my hair really dark brown, almost black. i like the color and i dont want it to fade, but i want to be able to use the garnier fructis mask. it doesnt say on the container if its color safe or not, so im afraid if i use it, it will make my color fade :[

i had to buy special expensive shampoo/conditioner from my salon for fine hair b/c my hair tends to not hold color well, even when i use color shampoo/cond from walmart. so im just concerned lol.

i heard that deep conditioning can actually help you retain your color longer, is this true? because in that case, the garnier deep conditioner would be good for my hair, and wouldnt fade it right?

also, ive read that putting pure vitamin e (if u were to pop some liquid gel capsules) on your hair helps reduce breakage, is this true? would this fade the color at all?

thanks, and sorry if my questions were repetetive lol
yeah, the fortifying deep conditioner that i have is from the sleek and shine line, not the color shield line. is that okay?? i've used it before with color treated hair, but it faded (but i dyed it myself, and it was pretty much going to fade no matter what b/c i wasnt using the right shampoo/conditioner)

i dont want to have to buy the color shield version and trash the sleek and shine one :/

What do i do about my damaged hair?!?

Ugh. Alright well my hair had always sucked. So I started straightening it 2 years ago. Everyday. I also got highlights. Yeah life sucked for me. So I got it cut and started straightening it sometimes and using gel sometimes to have it curly. Only to find out I guess gel dries out your hair too? I have tried to leave it down, but like I said my hair looks horrible when I don’t do anything to it. It’s like wavy, but poofy, frizzy and like a dang afro. It looks great when I straighten it, until you get too close and see the damage! I’ve tried every single heat protectant there is out there and nothing works! I used all the vitamin enriched conditioners and shampoos or whatever. I just got my hair cut again because it got crazy long, and it’s still damaged! Not as bad anymore of course, but still. & at the moment I use this deep conditioner twice a week. I leave it in for 30 mins and then rinse it out after I shower. Also, I use this thing that’s a miracle leave in product after I wash my hair. I put it Redken Anti-snap and Chi straightening guard. When I straighten my hair, I use this flat iron spray, and I use A LOT of it. I’ve been trying so hard to prevent my hair from becoming anymore damaged! I’m not sure whether it’s working or not!
Does anybody have any ideas of what I can do for my hair? Nothing too pricey! I need some serious help. By the way, I die my hair every now and then, the stuff you can buy at walmart. I’m stopping that right away because I bet it makes it worse too. Is there like anything I can do to make my hair look good without using heat or gel/mousse? & no, I don’t wear my hair up, I look stupid with my hair in a pony tail. So that’s not an option for me!

Does anyone use Organics by Africa's Best Olive Oil Deep Conditioner?

I am now beginning the process of growing out my hair. I've got about a little under a half an inch. I'm looking for something that will make it grow faster. I do all the basics I take my vitamins, drink ONLY water, and I'm a big seafood eater so of course I eat fish on the regular. However, yesterday one of my friends recommended Organics Olive Oil Deep Conditioner. Have any of you guys ever used it? Can you tell me anything about it? And, if it does not work, can you suggest something that will? Thanks in advance.

Why is my hair falling out/breaking?

Ok so,
Over the past 2 months of so my usually very healthy hair has fallen apart. It's both falling out from the root and breaking like crazy. I have never colored my hair and rarely straighten it. I am taking a vitamin B complex vitamin and vegetal silica for healthy hair and skin. I even went as far as to buy nioxin, a shampoo for thinning hair which I use along with a deep conditioner.

I have a feeling this is linked with my move 22 hours away from home for college. I think I've been eating pretty healthy and I don't feel that stressed. I have, however, been sleeping a lot lot lot less that usual. Could that be the cause? Could the change in water have anything to do with it?

I'm not sure what to do anymore. It's really starting to freak me out. I have a doctors appointment but I couldn't get in till Dec 21 :/
Is there anything else I should be doing? Does anybody know why this might happening?
thanks.

Dry, Damaged Hair From Dying It… Help!?

Ok so I was trying to go lighter when dying my hair and lets just say it didn't work so I had to re-dye it 3 times in 2 weeks. Bad, I know. It is still a horrible color that needs to be just plain dark brown. My hair is so badly fried that I can't even get a brush through it while blow drying ( bad again ) even after using conditioner in the shower and putting a leave in conditioner in. My hair is already short so cutting it is not an option. I am trying to longer.

What are some good products to fix this?! I am looking for nice, shiny, healthy longgggg hair! These are things I am considering:

Mane & Tail
Mayonnaise
Deep Conditioner
Prenatal Vitamins

I am not rich so please only cheap things I could buy at the drugstore!
Please only comment if you have tried these! thanks :)
