Has anyone found a vitamin regimen that works for your seizures?

My boyfriend has epilepsy and the Keppra and Lamictal do not work so great. He frequently has moments of complete scatterbrainness. I think that to control these little breakthrough moments, he needs to find vitamins.

Open to any and all alternative ideas and treatments. Done with western medicine.
In response to AngryDoc - I work for a pharmaceutical company, so trust me, I realize that some meds have a lot of benefits, but as I'm sure anyone with Epilepsy can say, getting pushed through the medical system, going to Mayo and the University of Chicago and the University of Iowa, and getting NO results can be irritating.

My boyfriend is an amazing person, and on top of everything else, he is willing to have a job and not spend taxpayers dollars on disability. Instead, he goes to work and often has to leave early because he can't hold a clear thought.

We realize that vitamins are not a cure. But, things do help, his current neurologist has even suggested alternative therapies.

This is why we are DONE with Western medicine, because of the complete arrogance by the people who don't care about anyone or anything other than their wallets. Pushing chemicals through your body and ruining your internal organs is not the way to go.

What is more effective?

Aloe vera gels bought in tubes (lily of the desert, fruit of the earth) or from the plant itself?

Those gels in tubes says they're 99% and therefore contains other chemicals and vitamins -as it says (if you could look on the ingredients part) \

But I am not sure about buying a plant itself.. what if the plants are prone to getting more bacteria? well, because it should be outside? And also, the plant maybe too harsh? and compared to the gel in tubes, they have other specific vitamins?

What do you think? And what will you prefer?

I am talking about face acne and scar problems..

26 year old female with drastically thinning hair?

Over the last year, my fine hair has gotten drastically thin. I can't wear it down anymore because you can see through to the scalp in different places.

1.) The women in my family have thin hair, but not like this. Mine is much thinner and you don't see their scalp.

2.) Yes, I have had a lot of stress in the last 2 months, but before that it was nothing out of the ordinary. My hair does seem to have thinned out alot more in the last 4 months or so.

3.) No, I have not been to a doctor. I do not have health insurance. I started taking a multi-vitamin and hair supplements (which is pretty much a B complex vitamin) about two weeks ago.

4.) I have not color treated my hair or done anything else with chemicals to it in over 2 years.

5.) I just recently quit smoking cigarettes.

6.) I tried getting my hair cut to above my shoulders, and it doesn't seem to have really helped much. It makes the bottom half look nice and full, but it's the top part that I'm having the problems with.

7.) I know that wearing it back tightly can cause damage- but I can't wear it down because you can see scalp patches. Wearing it in a ponytail is the only option right now.

8.) It is not breakage- on the pieces that come out, the white bulb is on the end.

I just don't know what to do. I don't want to use Minoxidil because (1) the side effects aren't the best and (2) it's a lifetime committment and (3) it's very inconvenient for women to use.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I feel like I'm pretty young for this to be happening and am honestly starting to get depressed and feel hopeless. I'm also not thin enough to shave it all off (nor confident enough).

Chemicals or Organic Skincare?

Now that I have turned 30 (+1) I would like to know what is best for anti-aging. I read a variety of sources some people swear by products by la prarie, roc, olay, clinique, bliss. However, I have tried many of these brands and not seen a noticeable difference.

There are others though, who say it is best to put pure oil on the skin, especially coconut oil or vitamin e. And Burt's bees products too, even though they are not "raw" they have a LOT less chemicals than the above mentioned brands.

So what I want to know is, BESIDES proper diet, excersice, and drinking enough water, what is best to keep your skin looking young? The expensive (or not so expensive depending on the brand) chemicals, including amino acids and peptides and retin, or natual oils and perhaps a more natural brand like burts bees?

There is a world of informaiton out there, i am willing to spend money to look good, but i dont know if its all hype. Ladies 30+ who look younger than their age, what do you use? Also can you please list your race as darker women and asian women tend to age better? Thank you!!!

How do I know which vitamins I need?

Is there a way to find out, through testing or anything, which vitamins my body specifically needs more of? I just starting exercising and eating right, and I want to just feel healthy overall.

I have suffered from depression and got off anti-depressants October 31st. I feel much better now, with regards to the chemicals being out of my body- because I was ridiculously tired. However, I don't know, I still feel like they are in me.

While dieting what can i drink? ?

im trying to loose weight and be healthy while doing so. i normally drink diet drinks. but im planning on becoming pregnant so i don't want to put those chemicals in my body. so im drinking juice with vitamin c and folic acid but they have a lot of calories in them. and drinking only water all day is to boring. is that crystal light ok? what besides water is healthy to drink without giving extra calories?
i need to loose about 30 pounds (the amount i gained after becoming happily married) before i get pregnant. i have seen my doctor for my pre conception visit and that's what she said i need to work at.

Ladies: Can keeping your toenails polished make them unhealthy?

I always keep my toenails polished, but after about two or so weeks, I remove the old polish and repaint them. When I remove the polish, my toenails seem to be very soft, flexible and unhealthy. What should I do: keep the polish off them for a while or should I put some clear coat on them before putting on the polish? I don't like looking at my toenails without nail color on them, so is there a way to keep them polished and still bring them back to a healthy state again? If there's a vitamin I can take to help them get healthy, what vitamin is best?

I greatly appreciate any advice and help! Thank you in advance for all your suggestions and advice. I really appreciate it!
I don't have a fungus - just that the chemicals in the polish seem to get in the nails and thus, making them unhealthy.
