Carb Diet: Guide – Do Carbs Really Make You Fat?
bit.ly My Simple Tips on Carb Diet Guide - Do Carbs Really Make You Fat? Carb Diet Myth 1#: Carbs make you fat Let's finally dump this erroneous notion. Carbohydrates do not make you fat. Nor does fat. Eating more of any kind of food than your body needs will make you fat. Carbohydrates are the primary and preferred source of energy for your working muscles and brain. Choose whole grains like whole-wheat breads and pastas, beans, fruits and vegetables to fill your fuel tank. If you go low on carbs you will not be feeling very energetic or alert. Carb Diet Myth 2#: All-natural means it's healthy We believe that "all-natural" means healthy, safe and good for you. We think of rolling hills, wild flowers and acres of farm-fresh vegetables. The truth is "all-natural" foods can still be high in bad saturated fat, sugar, sodium and calories and low in fiber, vitamins, minerals, photochemicals and antioxidants. Remember, dirt and arsenic are all natural but you don't want to eat them. Carb Diet Myth 3#: Eating late at night is bad With today's crazy schedules, people often do not get a chance to eat until 7 or 8 pm. It's a myth that the food stays in your stomach all night and then turns immediately to fat. Your body does not turn off when you go to bed. There is no magic time of day that your body starts storing fat and stops digesting food. Gaining weight happens because over time you eat more calories than you expend. The hazards of late-night eating include being starving by ...
Atkins Diet: Why am I not losing? (Part 1)
In this video, I deal with another viewer comment on why do people not lose weight or suffer weight loss stalls / plateaus. The first answer is "is it really a stall?", "Have you lost any inches not just pounds?", and "Have you not lost in more than 4 weeks?" If you satisfy these above question, this video is for you. Here is list of reasons that I go into in this video: 1.) Eating too many carbs (hidden carbs / underestimating) 2.) Undereating - starvation mode dieting 3.) Dehydration 4.) Overeating 5.) Too little exercise 6.) Stress 7.) Food Sensitivities / Candida In the next video I will touch upon your response. Here are some other good low carb resources: lowcarb4life.sugarbane.com www.lowcarb.ca They as well as years of helping others assisted me in making video
Atkins Diet: Induction Flu: Signs of Progress or Problems
It is very common that I read questions or statements from new Atkineers saying, "How come I feel so tired?" "Why do I have such a headache?" "I have no energy what is this diet doing to me!" One of the problems is no one forewarned them about Induction flu. Induction flu is simply the body burning its last remaining glucose and stored glycogen for energy, and suffering withdrawal effects. It is very similar to what happens when runners "hit the wall" and cyclist "bonk." In addition to the physical withdrawal symptoms there are the mental symptoms as well. Think of drug addict, are they necessarily pleasant to be around or in high spirits even though they are doing something good. Well the carb addict has the same reaction; I personally was irritable for the first 2 or 3 weeks as I had to figure out how to eat, exert control over what entered my mouth, and regain new comfort foods. It is a dramatic change, and some people resist change. The good news is it is just temporary. It typically only last a few days, but for some the mental effects might last longer. It also shows you are on the right path and making true progress on getting rid of the excess fat. The silver lining is indeed that by the end if you continue the follow the plan you will be burning fat for fuel. You'll have to watch the video for my suggestions on how to lessen the effects.

Atkins Diet Reply: Why was I successful?
In this video I reply to a user on why I was successful when others can struggle. Was it easy for me or was it sheer willpower? To me, it was a matter of the big 4 items: * Successful role models * Participant in Support Group (benefit from their wisdom) * Accountability * Other Concrete goals Other things that helped me: * a bit of competitive spirit with weight loss * Knowing myself and my ability to NOT withstand cheats * finding others who "blazed the trail" before me and were kind of enough to share their recipes I don't think I was special in that I think most people could follow in my steps as I followed in other successful losers. I don't believe my results may be unique, but they aren't atypical of someone who follows the Diet as written.

Atkins Diet: What to do about a stall?
In this the second half of the stall series, I deal with what should be the reaction of those who aren't losing inches or pounds for more than 4 weeks. Note: these are not for those that had a bad week or didn't lose in the last two week. Here's a synopsis on what to try: 1. Take your measurements (make sure you are in a stall) 2. Start a food diary (Fitday, SparkPeople) 3. Evaluate what you are eating 4. Tweak exercise - "try 5" 5. Cut out certain groups (dairy, aspartame, caffiene, newly tried food groups) 6. Post your menu's at online support group sites 7. Fasting diet (Fat Fast or Stillman's Diet) for those with extreme metabolically resistance
