Skin help! Please HELP!?
Okay so my skin routine is as follows:
Best bath store acne facial bar
After steaming apply tea tree oil, and then apply cold water to close pores
Dickinson's witch hazel toner
I recently just started this, I have used the products separately before but started to add them as a routine! How long will it take for results? And will I even see results? Any suggestions? Please help. I have oily skin and have random mild breakouts just on my cheeks! It's not absolutely terrible, but enough to get on my nerves. Ohh, and I have light spots on one cheek due to prior blemishes.
Any products you've tried and worked well please inform me! But please no proactive, or expensive procedure answers even if they might've worked for you.
Any good vitamins you would recommend to take? I've heard vitamin A, zinc, omega 3 are good?
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!
Why am I still breaking out (I'll be forever grateful if you can figure this out!)?
I'm going crazy trying to figure out why my acne seems to be returning.
Background:
-I'm an 18 year old female
-I've always had moderate acne and recently found out I have PCOS, (1 year ago) so that explains the hormonal acne I was getting. (jawline, under the skin, etc)
-I was put on birth control (about a year ago) and spironolactone (maybe 6 months ago) to control the hormonal aspect of the acne
-I was given benzoyl peroxide face wash, clindamycin topical lotion, and tretinoin (retin a) topical gel (maybe a little less than a year ago)
**My acne cleared after all this!! My skin was wonderful up until now.
Now, for the past few weeks, I've been getting these breakouts. The first was strange..I had symmetrical under the skin acne on either side of my jaw, as well as on the side of my nose. Since then, it's been whiteheads, small pimples on my forehead, near my mouth, and now another under the skin pimple along my jawline.
The only thing I've recently done differently (maybe a little over a month ago) is that I'm taking supplements, mainly Vitamin D3. Now I've read this is supposed to treat acne, not cause it! (although, whats the deal with milk causing acne, which contains vit. d?) The other supplements never used to give me acne so I ruled them out. I also began a multi vitamin with 100% iodine but recently switched (last week) b/c my mom breaks out from iodine so I figured that might not be helping.
The only other thing I'm testing out is chewing gum. I began chewing sugar gum cuz sugar substitutes give me canker sores. Could the sugar be making me break out near my jaw/mouth (even if I chew 1/3 of the stick)? I will keep testing this.
One last idea: Is it true acne meds stop working after a while? If so, is this the case?
Other than this, I've done nothing different. I eat right, I sleep well, I exercise, I drink a decent amount of water, I wash my face twice a day (after working out included), I try not to touch my face.
Sorry this was long, but I really appreciate it if you read this far. One of the best things that happened to me was clear skin, and the thought of having painful acne again makes me want to cry =[
Tutorial: 5 Simple Tips for Healthy, Flawless Skin
These are 5 of my tips (in no particular order) to help you achieve healthy, clear skin and prevent breakouts. This will not help you cure acne or other more serious skin problems, but they are just general tips for healthy skin :) 1. Diet - cut back on greasy/fried and spicy foods. Try to eat more nutritious foods with vitamins A, B, C, and E. 2. Water - drink lots of water to help your body naturally cleanse. 3. Sleep - get a decent amount of sleep regularly to help your body heal and fight off germs. 4. Contact - take preventative actions to minimize contact between your face and anything that is dirty or can carry bacteria. Wash your face regularly. 5. Moisturize - to maintain your skin's natural balance of oils and moisture...otherwise your skin will go on overdrive producing oil and can cause breakouts! By the way, just to clarify...when I mention "diet" in this video, it refers to what you eat on a regular basis (not as in "go on a diet"). Thanks for watching! Acne & Vitamin E ….?
I recently bought some Vitamin E capsules hoping to get rid of red marks from acne. I take the capsules orally. However, I am wondering if piercing the capsules and putting it over my face will work better. My skin produces oil during the day but if I do it this way and leave it on for 5/10 minutes later then wash my face with oil remover cleanser/Exfoliate (Clean & Clear) will I still come out in breakouts from the Vitamin E oil or will the cleanser remove it all?
I've heard putting Vitamin E Capsules on your face works better than taking it orally.
I have red marks on my T-Zone area from bad acne.
Thanks ...
What is the best product for my acne & fading acne scars for my skin type?
My skin is super oily, I'm a stress case and I don't eat as healthy as I should. (my skin does dry out a little bit in winter)
I drink gallons of water every day.
I have old acne scars & current adult acne. My acne is not as bad as some--but enough to bother me. The scars are pretty bad.
My skin tone is very uneven. To add to it all, my birth control pills caused a tan line on my upper lip.
I wear make-up about 3 times a year and wash about 2x daily with either cetephil or phyosderm. I've been applying Clean & Clear spot treatment all over.
In the summer, I sweat gallons at my job--though I do wipe down my face with plain cold water now & then throughout the day. Don't sweat so much in the winter!
With my skin type, what is the best you have tried to help fade acne scars?
What is the best product to keep current acne under control?
TYPE OF ACNE--white heads on chin, at corners of mouth. Regular breakouts of normal zits with occasional monster size zits that take about 3 wks or more to go away. These Godzilla zits are fairly new with me--they don't develop a head or ozze anything--they just sit there, big, red, and sore feeling.
I cannot afford to go to a dermatologist although if an expensive product is recommened, I might be able to get that at Christmas time.
I'm open to home remedies, however I doubt my diet will change much. I do indulge in fruit often and take Calcium, D, B complex & C
(I stopped taking vitamin E because I heard it could speed up lung cancer in smokers--yep I'm a smoker too. No good for the skin; been trying to quit for the past month)
I'm not looking for "I have heard" or "look into this"
What have you tried yourself that works--or what has a friend tried that you have seen works?
I cannot afford to waste time & money on experimenting
I really would appreciate any feedback about products/home remedies that are tried & true
have I steamed my face? I work at a dry cleaners so I get daily facial steams! ha ha
Also, if a home remedy is recommended that invloves making pastes, squeezing fruits--I probably wouldn't do that. I'm too lazy to make magic potion daily. :-D Easier to grab a bottle/jar out of bathroom cupboard
what are the best supplements/creams to use to combat oily skin?
i'm 21 years-old and i have quite oily skin, mainly on my A-zone, nose & chin. i'm very prone to spots which seem to linger for several days. i use antibacterial soap when i wash in the mornings and evenings, and antiseptic savlon cream on my face at night. both of these help A LITTLE in combatting my breakouts but i was wondering if anyone can recommend vitamins, medication or face creams that i can use to try and make the problem calm down?
What works best for acne scars; mederma, bio-oil, vitamin e, or emu oil?
I am completely lost. Well im leaving on a cruise in about 1 1/2 month. I have acne scars from previous breakouts and ive looked for solutions and have found a couple. Which will give me the best results: mederma, bio-oil, vitamin e, or emu oil? I dont want to use something that will make me breakout. Any opinions? (not interested in any medical procedure)
I need a REALLY good vitamin for my skin. I'm not sure whats the best to take. Anyone that can recommend some
My skin (mostly on my face) has been kinda dull and the tone a little uneven. I have also had a few breakouts, which is a new thing. I've used topical treatements, but I'm lookinfg for a really good oral vitamin that helps my skin look healthier, and just generally better. Does anyone have anything they could recommend? Any input would be greatly appreciated:)
