Help with detox?
I'm eliminating processed foods and foods with preservatives/additives in them (for this week as I'm on uni-break). I started yesterday.
Included is plenty of fresh vegetables & fruit, a small lamb steak (for iron) at dinner time (with salad and 2tblsp maceroni with sundried tomato pesto), & for breakfast, oats or omelette (with tomato and avocado and very small amount of cheese) or 2 eggs (keeps me full).
I'm eating 6 small meals a day. I'm also eating at least 13-1400 calories a day (I'm wanting to lose weight too and it's right for my BMR, though I'm not overweight just want to lose a couple pounds) and drinking lots of water. In addition I'm supplementing myself with B12, B-complex and folic acid (naturopath recommended as I am vitamin B deficient)
Problem is, it's day 2 and I'm feeling a bit nauseous, with a bit of a headache or light head, and I'm going to bathroom a bit (no diarrhea, just more regularly). It's not the calories as been 1300 for awhile. Is this normal?

I just dyed my hair black?
I just dyed my hair black, and I was wondering what the best shampoo/conditioner would be?
I have this vitamin conditioner with vitamins B,C,E and K in it, along with avocado.
would that be helpful?
and would straightening my hair harm it? if so, what could i do to minimize damage, because I have to straighten my hair. Its a mess if I don't.
I request answers from those with experience dying their hair, or from stylists please!
Avocados
www.karenrothnutrition.com Most people steer clear of avocados because of their high fat value. But two-thirds of that fat is monounsaturated and good for the heart. If anyone has followed a Mediterranean diet, you know they emphasize the monounsaturated fats like avocado and olive oil. Avocados have many health benefits including •Lower LDL cholesterol that the Least desirable •Increase the health promoting HDL cholesterol. •High in potassium which supports blood pressure regulation. •Avocados are a good source of fiber, folic acid and Vitamin B6 all essential nutrients for a healthy heart. A 2005 study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that by adding avocados to salads increased absorption of the health promoting phytonutrients from the vegetables. Most avocados you find in the store are hard and will take a few days to ripen at home. You know its ready when the green skin turns dark green or black and slightly gives to pressure. You never want to eat an over ripened avocado, ones that have separated from the pit or have brown spots or streaks. These brown markings are a sign of free radical formation which is what we want to avoid as much as possible. •Add them to salads •mash up and use in place of mayonnaise •Great in wraps •Great topping for black bean soup •Add to salsa. •Try ½ an avocado with cottage cheese for breakfast
Homemade, natural shampoo and conditioner?
My hair is a little frizz prone because it's wavy, but otherwise, it's normal (not too dry, not too oily)...and I don't want to use shampoos/conditioners with all those toxic ingredients any longer.
Does anyone know how to make shampoos and conditioners that will moisturize and cleanse, but made out of natural ingredients, such as avocado, etc., items preferably already found in my home or have easy access to get at a vitamin store? Links would be helpful and ANY information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and answer!

A Delicious Way to Prepare Avocados
Vegetables have plenty of vitamins, nutrients and should be a primary part of your diet along with fruits and meats. Avocados are a very healthy and nutritious fruit. Avocado cholesterol diet is beneficial for lowering cholesterol, despite of avocado fat content and carbohydrate. The reason is that avocado is a great source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. The avocado fat is a type of fat that may actually help to raise levels of HDL "good"cholesterol" which actually protects arteries, while lowering levels of LDL "bad" cholesterol". I have come up with my own recipe that you can use as an appetizer to your main meal and works well at parties. No it is not Guacamole, it is something much different. Just some facts about Olive oil which I also add to the broth in preparation of this dish. All types of olive oil contain monounsaturated fat, but "extra-virgin" or "virgin" olive oils are the least processed forms, so they're the most heart healthy. Those types contain the highest levels of polyphenols, a powerful antioxidant that also can promote heart health. For this tasty dish you will need: 1 Avacodo 1 Tablespoon of fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon of olive oil 1/2 Cup of vegetable broth (homemade is preferred) 1/2 Cup of milk (non fat is preferred) 2 heaping tablespoons of non fat plain unsweetened yogurt 1/4 Teaspoon of garlic powder 1/4 Teaspoon of onion powder Touch of Fresh ginger and ginger powder Black ground pepper to taste (topping) Cayenne pepper to taste ...
