Is there a real difference between vitamins like the expensive ones and cheap store generic ones?

This of course excludes the amounts per bottle and the amount of vitamin per tablet. But is the quality any better even if they tell you or not? I know I can live with cheaper cereal and hot dogs, but when I buy vitamins should I becareful which I buy, like instead of paying for 250 of lets say "c" I buy a with 250. Is that a sign of the cheap is bad or just not as good or they are the same tablets with a generic name...
Dr J you had said "6) Vitamin E in most cheap supplements is the synthetic form called dl-alpha-tocopherol (also called all-racemic alpha-tocopherol). Real vitamin E is d-alpha-tocopherol - plus 7 additional forms (called vitamers)."

The vitamins I purchased were Vitamin E 400 I.U. Daily Value 1333% ingrediants dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate... is that the same as what you were trying to say or different? Is mine bad?
