supersize vs superskinny ep.7 part 3/5
Pint-sized Tiffany Patterson had to grow up quickly when her mum left home, leaving her to become the breadwinner and meal-maker. Too busy to eat, the seven stone 25-year-old lives on a daily dose of energy drinks and little else. Joining her for the five-day diet swap is DJ Keith Kelsey, whose out-of-hours eating has caused his weight to balloon to 30 stone. Dr Christian Jessen accompanies him to see 45-year-old Lisa Wheeler as she undergoes life-threatening weight-loss surgery. It's ping pong in exchange for pizza as Anna Richardson takes on the Flab Fighters with a game of table tennis to show them how to have their favourite treats and still lose weight. Plus four young women battling with anorexia nervosa face their food fears in the kitchen of a gourmet curry house, where they have to prepare and eat a highly calorific meal.

You all are arguing about whether the chick is too skinny or not, and no one is seeing the most disgusting thing – Doctors destroying a perfectly healthy organ because their patient refuses to put down the fork. Her stomach is not the thing making her fat. Sick. That obese woman needs to be locked up, fed proper portions and forced to exercise. If she refuses, no more med. care or financial support for her. Cheaper than surgery – they end up stretching the stomach anyways – waste of $.

@kaliyanei90 personally yes, high school Biology.

@daisiegurl Ok, that’s good. (By the way, I didn’t want to insult anybody. It’s just that I’ve never come across these terms in everyday conversation, only in a primarily medical context.)

WHY would she EVER want curves? She’s so beautiful!
January 10th, 2011 - 02:10
weird. that guy would be good looking if he was normal sized :-)

I am 18 years old and I weigh 39.4 kilo’s. I HATE IT!
I have osteoporose and i’ve always been tiny. When I was 7 I used to weigh 17kg.Because I have almost no fat at all, i hurt myself pretty easily. I feel so ashamed when I go swimming or even when I put my sleeves up..
People used to ask me if i was anorexic and that hurt like hell.
So when I see those pro-anorexic reactions here, i get really mad, I would give anything to be a little fatter so i can fit in my jeans..

@eurasianchica “at least it’s healthy”
Obviously not, if she’s on this show to make herself healthier and they’re talking about the risks of her eating like she does…The point is to BE healthy.
January 17th, 2011 - 08:14
honestly tiffany is not healthy, the media such as (magezines tv ect.) brain wash you making you think your only beautiful if you are skinny.
January 17th, 2011 - 08:50
does this video start fucking up for anyone else at 5:33? the audio suddenly jumps ahead…
January 17th, 2011 - 21:54
have you noticed how all the the super skinny people are always girls… never guys but the supersize people are both girls AND boys
January 19th, 2011 - 08:54
@jazzijj1011 yea…
January 20th, 2011 - 08:31
@jbigfan haha yes i noticed that too. Maybe superskinny men are a little more embarrassed than women because you know most men probably like to be seen as masculine and strong.
January 24th, 2011 - 04:41
@jbigfan there have been a couple of underweight men before
January 24th, 2011 - 04:41

UGH I was eating breakfast when they showed that stomach.
February 14th, 2011 - 17:39
@lotsofcurlz36 its funny how brainwashed and narrow-minded YOU are. think of people who are not raised in the “press a button and get what you want” western societies. and yet, hey have similar perceptions of beauty, they too appreciate the looks of britney spears, madonna, etc.
February 14th, 2011 - 21:45
@btfu62 She doesn’t have a proper diet obviously being under the recommended amount of calories and taking in half of the necessary vitamins and minerals. Don’t confuse thin with healthy.
February 15th, 2011 - 06:21
It´s not only about the calories she eats. The real problem is the amount and quality of her diet. I’m a slim girl, but my diet is healthy and i exercise regularly. I look skinny but healthy and strong, but I have to add that my frame is naturally thin and i probably eat a lot more than an average people without getting fat. Despite that, i think that all of us, small or big frame, have the right to have a healthy diet.

I think the language used here impacts the audience improperly. We are so obsessed with youth that this tactic may work on her personally, but it makes her horrible (HORRIBLE) eating habits seems slightly more attractive than they should be.
Especially to those of us already inundated with bad body image. It’s there’s got to be other diction they could have chose which would have cast a more negative (and appropriate) light, on her body and eating habits.

“massive shedding” of hair…
it’s true. It sucks. It’s one of my least favorite parts of my ED
February 24th, 2011 - 09:28
Damn, that chick is so pretty. Add a couple of kilos and she’ll be hot-to-trot.
February 26th, 2011 - 12:59
i am not taht opinion that tiffany is too skinny i wish i would be skinny like her!
