Showerhead Filters – Legit or Bogus?
I'm one of those organic, vitamin-loving health nuts always looking for the next pill or gizmo to improve my quality of living. Recently I was told about Vitamin C filters for shower heads, and how chlormines present in inner-city water supplies can damage hair and skin. I've looked at some product websites like Vitashower, which claim to neutralize chlormines and free chlorine in your shower water, leading to healthier hair / skin. Has anyone used a shower head filter over a long period of time? Has it indeed made a difference in your hair and skin quality? Vitashower looks to me to be the best thing since sliced bread, but I'd hate to waste and a lot of time changing my shower head only to find it's another scam capitalizing on the current "filtration craze". Part of me feels that if these chemicals are really so harmful to us, how could so many people in my city of several hundred thousand, showering daily, have perfectly fine-looking hair and skin...?
