Should I be taking Vitamin C tablets at the age of 17?

I turn 18 in a few months but I've been researching and I want to take some Vitamin C tablets to produce my glutathione (I want to achieve a lighter skin tone) and Vitamin E. I heard this achieves good results but I'm not considered an "adult" yet. If I do start taking these could there be any harsh effects on my body. Should I be taking 1000mg tablets or 500mg tablets? Thanks.

  1. You shouldn’t need synthetic vitamin C if you eat fresh fruit and vegetables.
Glutathione occurs naturally in many foods, and if you eat well you probably have enough in your diet.

Both are antioxidants (as is Vit E) which help against cell aging but they will not lighten the skin colour.

Taking vitamin C will not harm you, 500mgs shoulf be sufficient. Taking too much can give some people gastric upset, diarrhoea.

  2. You do realize you get enough vitamin c from 1-2 oranges or a glass of orange juice. You only take the tablets if you don’t have any source of vitamin c in your diet.
