Protein and weight loss?

I started out the month at 220 pounds. I have started to use a protein shake as one of my meals during the day. The shake is a scoop of protein, some flax seed, peanut butter, fruit, and skim milk. On my workout days, (MWF) I just have the shake after I am at the gym. I also run M-Sat The other days of the week I just substitute it for a meal. I have been diligently trying to eat the right foods(cereal, Eggs, Tuna, Turkey, Chicken and Vegetables etc. Also take a Vitamin and some fish oil as my supplements. I am now down to 212 after 2 weeks. Would I have a realistic hope of making it to 190?

  1. Im a NCSF Certified Personal Trainer. You sound like your one the right path my friend. Keep it up!!!! If you have lost 8lbs in two weeks you are garunteed to get to at least 190lbs. depending upon you much body fat you have. It is is high then yes, you can get to that goal. If you have a pretty good body fat percentage then i think 200lbs. is a good goal for you. Hope this helps ya, keep up the good work!!!! It pays off trust me

  2. I think it is not just a hope you are going to make it to 190 and maybe even pass that if you keep doing what you doing!

  3. Of course its a realistic goal. Losing 8 points in 3 weeks is a great start, as long as you keep up with what you’ve been doing you’ll be down to 190 by late spring/summer easy. Some tips for your protein shake, slim it down to just 2 scoops of protein, instead of f1, and take out some of the other ingredients, its more protein dense that way. and you don’t get the calories that peanut butter has
    hope i helped and
    good luck!

  4. Definitely! Most people that lose weight tend to lose about 2 pounds per week, and your losing twice as much. You’ll be there soon enough, just keep it up!
