Preparing for the first day of school; tips?

Hello there, I am about to be a sophomore in high school, well in August. I recently got out of a relationship that caused me to waste my entire freshmen year. The guy is going to be a senior, I put so much time and energy into him it prevented me from making new friends, extending relationships, and really getting the high school experience. We decided to be friends now, but I want a little revenge, the sweet way. I want to look AMAZING in the fall. Guys already tell me I look good, but I also want change so I have a fresh new start, and I want particularly for the guy I mentioned to be kicking himself for what he lost. If it helps, I'm 5'5 pretty blonde, athletic figure, eyebrow pierced, and I'm mistaken for a college student like everyday of my life.

Anyways! I'm working on the new wardrobe ordering cute things from C1RCA (a skater brand) because I can get some adorable things that don't come out until Spring, and I can get them for base price because I worked with inventory. I also will shop at places like PacSun, Hollister for shorts, AE, and PINK. And I'm getting a Vera Bradley backpack. Do you have any tips about clothing like what I should get, etc?

For my hair, I'm taking prenatal vitamins and treating it like fine lace all Summer so it has major length in the Fall. It's a pain, but totally worth it. I plan on either getting more highlights to brighten it up, low lights because my hairdresser thinks dark hair would look hot on me, or going a redish-blonde color. I'm already pretty blonde. For the cut, I'll even out some layers and add blunt bangs. Any opinions on the hair? And make up tips please!

And, how should I ACT?! I am a kind person and I'm super chill about life, but I have an edge to me a little bit and I'm really happy with who I've become. But, how should I act towards the guy? And so can make friends I should have last year?

If it helps, I don't wanna take him back, I still wanna be friends but I want a fresh new start for myself and I just want him to realize what he lost. Even his family said I was the best he'd ever get, and random people tell me I'm better than him.

  1. Wow, you seem to have so much going for you! As far as the other guy goes, remember that every time you give him a thought, you’re still investing in him. Let it go!! Don’t worry about him noticing what he lost – that’s going to be obvious. And as far as how to attract and act around other guys, be super happy, realize what a unique person you are. Happiness and joy attracts people, and they want to be around that. They’ll want what you have – which is the knowledge that you are an amazing person with all they need. Some people will like you, some won’t (maybe they’re envious of your confidence and contentment). But know that no matter what goes down, you are complete and not looking for someone else to fulfill or define you. That is an amazing quality that pulls people to you like a magnet.
Sounds like you’d look great with a lot of play on the blonde hair – some low lights, maybe weaving in some caramel and cinnamon tones, with a few super pale streaks. Have fun with it!
And it sounds like you’re right on target with your clothes. Your outgoing personality and athletic body and lifestyle will be reflected in your choice of fun clothes that take you through whatever activities you encounter. These styles are also super-flattering to a great body (i.e.: fit and active), and they announce to the world (and all those guys looking for more than a pretty face, somebody that can play and keep up) that you’re up for all kinds of fun.
Makeup? Focus on always looking like you’re not wearing any, like that’s the way you look when you roll out of bed. That said, it’s always good to amp it up a little. Soft, peachy blush looks really healthy and fresh. Highlight eyes with a hint of taupe liner and some mascara for day; keep lips "blushy" with just a pink or peach gloss. Then, when you really turn it up for evening, the contrast makes people do a double-take: Full on smoky shadow and darker (think charcoal or even black) liner, double up on the lashes. Blush just a shade richer with a touch of shimmer – but stay away from anything that sparkles or has iridescent bases. The iridescent stuff always has a bit of a blue undertone, and sparkles look like you belong in the ice capades.
Remember – Want what you have, and be content with who you are. People will flock to be near you, and you won’t have to wonder if they like you for any other reason! Good luck with this new year.
