thanks for that information- i just subbed to tomikagetsfit :P
i was wondering about vitamins and supplements. i have to go to gnc this week to do research.
I take a lot of vitamins – but they all seem to sit with me pretty well. The only one that makes me sick is my multi-vitamin, which makes me nauseated and causes me to sneeze…I know, it’s weird, but it only affects me like that when I take it without food.
if its one thing i dont take its vitiman supplements.
once i have my cereal in the morning, im pretty well set up when it comes to getting nearly everything i need. okay, milk lacks alot of omega’s and stuff, but i do eat fish regularly too.
and if by chance i dont get enough of a certain vitiman, the maximuscle protein i take is loaded with pretty much everything i need , and takes the guess work out of the whole ” am i getting what my body needs ” conundrum.
i would have failed without it.
@mysteryguest1948 Yeah, mine sit pretty well with me too. It probably means you aren’t getting too much of anything. I’ve never heard of anyone sneezing from them before!
@DaveyLoosesWeight A lot of cereals and milks these days are really well fortified with nutrients. Getting some of that every day is really helpful in getting everything you need! The maximuscle protein sounds like it is a supplement. People generally don’t consider stuff like that a supplement and that is where they tend to get into trouble when they take a multivitamin on top of the nutrients they get from other sources… and overdose. It sounds like your diet is pretty balanced though!
@inspector941 True, but I would rather be peeing out excess and know I’m getting enough. If you aren’t peeing it out you are likely in a deficit because it would be really hard to find that exact balance where you are getting everything you need, but not enough to pee it out.
@ObeseToSlim
just for a laugh i checked to see how good the maximuscle stuff was by googling it.
apparently all the protein powders you get for bodybuilding are useless according to one guy. he says the body wont absorb the protein in them because they are processed. and i have a feeling he is on to something.
he also says that when you cook meat, you take the nutrients out of it along with most of the proteins. but he does say that hemp is the best source for protein. so im gonna try it :)
I have also heard that cooking food takes nutrition out of it, but I think that is supposed to be true of all foods, not just meat. Also, I don’t think it takes all nutrition out, just some.
I wonder though, if all the protein was removed by cooking, wouldn’t most of the world be suffering from a protein deficiency? I don’t think most people eat their meat raw, or get protein from raw plant sources.
@ObeseToSlim
yup, you’ll still get some protein intake from cooked meats, but apparently it wont get absorbed as well as if it was raw. ( which none of us are ever going to do anyways lol ).
but ive been reading for the past hour on hemp vs whey proteins, and i think im going to switch to hemp. while i am loosing weight and gaining strength, i feel i should be alot stronger. and i do feel bloated in my gut.
its time to take real food and ditch the processed muscle builders that dont work ;)
@DaveyLoosesWeight Let me know how it works for you, I’d be interested in finding out. I’m wondering if you will build muscle faster because of better absorbtion.

Very true, even though we can’t OD on the water soluble vitamins like B and C, we would be wasting our money just peeing out the excess!

@ObeseToSlim I agree, I would rather take enough rather than too little.
