Gingko Biloba has been shown to improve memory and mental clarity.
B-Vitamins are also good for neurological function.
However, if you’re looking for a short term "boost", caffeine is the oldest remedy in the book.
I must say though, if you’re looking for long term mental clarity and healthy neurological function, here are some things that will do the trick- you may not like the answer, but they work.
+Regular Exercise, especially in the morning
+Between 7 and 10 hours of sleep EVERY night
+A good hearty breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up
+A natural, plant based multivitamin supplement- Make sure it’s loaded with B vitamins, Omega 3′s, and Gingko
By far the most important ones are adequate sleep, exercise, and breakfast. Water is quintessential. If you are doing these 4 things, the supplements will not be necessary as you will be fueling your body with the right juice anyway.
If a certain vitamin is making you sick, it’s not the right vitamin. Lots of store brand vitamins are packed with binders and extra unnecessary crap added for color and bonding. This is why it’s imperative to get a plant based supplement, with FOOD derived ingredients. ALWAYS take your vitamin with breakfast, right before you exercise to ensure proper absorption.

You may have been taking synthetic, and/or imported vitamins. Ensure they are certified 100% of natural origin: http://www.mercola.com have some, but try vitamin & health food stores too. St John’s wort, schisandra, & liquorice (Herbs of Gold: Hyperzin). Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. See section 41, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris then http://www.vitamins.com If problems persist, try taking with a meal, but natural sources of vitamins (food) are usually best.

Contrary to popular assumptions, a diminishment of memory and mental clarity does not have to be an inevitable consequence of aging. Nutritional supplementation, reducing the amount of aluminum you ingest, and exercise all can help improve healthy mental function.
Nutritional Supplements
Iron
Studies indicate that iron can help improve short-term memory loss and concentration. If you aren’t using iron cookware regularly, I recommend that you take 10 to 15 milligrams of elemental iron a day.
Ginkgo Biloba
Ginkgo biloba’s antioxidant action helps to protect the brain from free radical damage that can cause "mental fog." It also has the ability to stimulate blood flow to critical regions of the brain. A good daily maintenance dosage is 10 milligrams of ginkgo that has been standardized to contain 24% of the flavonoid glycosides helps maintain brain function and cognitive performance as you age. For intensive use, I recommend 60 mg to 120 mg per day.
Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid
Low blood levels of vitamin B12 and folic acid may be a cause of memory impairment. Taking a good multinutrient that contains each of the B vitamins and at least 400 micrograms of folic acid and 100 micrograms of B12 daily helps maintain clarity of thought and supports short- and long-term memory.
Reduce Aluminum Ingestion
Numerous studies have found that higher amounts of aluminum in drinking water and food can cause impair memory.
We’ve long known that aluminum leeches easily from cookware and is readily absorbed into your system. I recommend using iron cookware instead of aluminum and, if you haven’t done so already, it’s time to begin purifying your drinking water of aluminum and other harmful elements by distilling it.
Take a walk to clear your mind
Prolonged stress has also been linked to impaired mental clarity. Taking a walk is not only good physical exercise but a refreshing way for you to get away from life’s stressors for a while. Visualization can be a very positive tool in diminishing stress.
Cooling and refreshing Peppermint essential oil energizes the mind and mood, helping to improve mental clarity and memory. Oil of Basil is an excellent source to improve mental clarity .

Kombucha is excellent.
And go to your local privately owned health food sttore. They will have many things you can try. Also some kind of general body cleanse may help you… mind and body do have an effect on each other.
