Is there a natural vitamin substitute for normal drugs?

Ive given up using drugs like advil and midol and ect. because of past problems with them. Ive always heard that theres a certain mixture of vitamins and stuff that you can use that would help you the same way medicines do but naturally. Does anyone know a website or can give me some info on if thats true and if it is a list of what vitamin does what?

  1. There are many natural options that can help with similar things (inflammation, pain, cramps, etc), but none of them will be a 100% replacement. What I mean is that drugs like Tylenol effectively reduce the feeling in the pain center of the brain so it you don’t feel the hurt as much, but what is causing the pain is still there. There are some of them that are also anti-inflammatory, but that’s in addition to that effect.
They also give the effect they give in the timeframe that they work because they force a reaction whether your body would normally do that otherwise or not.

With supplements, they give the body nutrition it’s otherwise lacking so it can help the cause of the problem instead of just the symptoms. So the herbal option like Tylenol (if such a thing existed) would be to nourish the brain so it doesn’t hurt, which would prevent/stop a headache… and that kind of action would take longer to act.
Ironically, that’s actually both the good and bad part about supplements… they nourish your body to remove the cause of the problem instead of covering up the symptoms or forcing a reaction (which is the main reasons drugs have harsh side effects). The bad side is that because of that mechanism, it takes time to get a desired effect.

Anyway, with all that being said, there are supplements that help inflammation like Fish Oil or Curcumin, there are some that help with pain like White Willow Bark (where Aspirin was initially isolated from), and there are some that help with cramps and other "monthly issues" like Black Cohosh and Dong Quai. It depends on what you’re looking for, but taking the right supplement for a reoccurring issue can help to prevent the issue from happening again. Feel free to E-mail me if you would like more options or ideas. Good luck and I hope I helped!

  2. I don’t think this is true. Why not discuss the problems you’ve had with your doctor and ask for some alternatives?

  3. if your symptoms can be cured by vitamins, than the problem is with your diet, save yourself the money and make sure your eating right. if you are eating right, than still save yourself the money, vitamins for symptom relief is based on flawed logic, suggesting for example that because calcium is critical for bone development, it can be used to make your bones stronger if you take more of it, your body dosn’t use everything you ingest it only uses what it needs.
