Is taking vitamins good at a young age?
I'm 16 years old and I wanna get strong bones and more energy.
So I bought Centrum Silver Mulitivitamin/Multimineral Supplement and it says its only for 50+ adults.
Doesn't say any warning sign about anything.
I really want to try this out.
So should I take these vitamins?

hello!
vitamins are the substances which are not synthesized in the body but are essential for the maintenance of the normal structure and function of the cell.there are two types of vitamins:fat soluble like vitamin D and vitamin K and water soluble vitamins
vitamins are necessary for any age people and they play in important role in the growing children as they performs variety of functions that are necessary for the proper growth of the body.
for the normal proper growth of the bones vitamin D is essential and vitamin E is essential for the more energy to the muscles.
vitamin D performs the following functions:
1.it promotes the mineralization of bone by increasing the absorption of calcium and phosphorus
The major sources of vitamin D are cod liver oil
Deficiency leads to the rickets, osteo malacia and other bone deformation diseases
Vitamin E performs the following functions:
it helps in the contraction of the skeletal muscles
main source of vitamin E are unrefined vegetables and wheat gram oil
coming to the end i will suggest to take the vitamin up to 20 mg daily in the diet because they are very essential for the proper and good growth of the body
i hope my answer is of some use to you

if it says 50+ why buy them? :L just go buy some other ones, they probably wont cause any damage, but probably wont effect you either. MY ADVICE: give them to your nan or something and buy some others!

If you only take one a day it won’t make much difference one way or the other. There are no silver bullets.Probably best to get your money back. Best thing is to eat fresh uncooked veggies and fruits along with high fibre grains and clean protein and avoid sodas and other power or athletic drinks. Avoid junk food. Run and jump, twist and turn and be active to the point of fatigue most days of the week. It is as simple as that for a healthy person your age. Make these habits for life and you’ll be in good shape for the rest of your life.

If you eat a healthy diet, you won’t need vitamins supplements.
For strong bones & teeth, drink a pint of milk every day.
For energy, eat green vegetables, fresh fruit, lean white meat, pasta or rice.

I’d take em back if you can, only for the reason they’re overpriced.
Get store brand CVS, RiteAid, Acme/Osco, etc, and be sure USP is on the bottle.
People of all ages need vitamins.
Get the multi vit/ multi mineral kind, w/ about 22 items, but not "hi potency."
It’s good to take the multi’s cuz they include magnesium which is needed w/ calcium & other nutrients for bone building, along w/ weight-bearing exercise which is crucial.
I break mine in 1/2 and take each half 12 hrs apart w/ one or two table spoons of oil, canola or olive, and about 15 mins before I eat cuz some foods interfere w/ absorption.
