you wouldn’t get enough in your foods to do anything to your body, they generally don’t contain enough. if you took multiple vitamins that would be another story. only vitamin c and all the b vitamins are soluble in water, so in other words, you will pee them out. vitamins d, a, e and k are fat soluble so you will store them in your fat for later use. if you get too much of these vitamins it will cause toxicity of the blood which is uber bad.

Generally for most people, eating a balanced diet using the Dietary Guidelines or Healthy Diet Pyramid as a guide will provide all the essential nutrients in adequate amounts.
Therefore, it is not necessary to take additional vitamin and mineral supplements.
The food we eat contains more than just nutrients and should never be replaced with supplements.
However, vitamin and mineral supplements are required for some people with increased needs namely:
pregnant women
elderly
people with special medical conditions
