Is it okay to take prenatal vitamins on a regular basis?

My husband and I dont plan on having a child for another 4 or 5 years (hopefully). I started taking them about 6 months ago but not regularly. Is there too many nutrients and vitamins in them for someone not intending on having a child soon? Or should I just stick to regular womens vitamins?

  1. No. They are great for your body, your nails & your hair. I take prenatals all of the time as well.

  2. There won’t be too many nutrients (as in harmful to you) but you may be wasting money on stuff you don’t need.

  3. If you are of childbearing age, it is an excellent idea to take these. If you get too much of a water soluble vitamin anyway, your body will just flush it out and keep what you need.

  4. Prenatal vitamins are intended for natal care and prescribed by a medical practitioner. You have just answered your first question by another question. Pre Natal Vitamins can be taken in a regular basis for the pregnant women and multivitamins for not pregnant. You may ask your doctor what kind of vitamins do you need to prevent having a child for 4 to 5 years.
