Is Castor Oil Bad for Natural Hair?
I am black and I will BC in a few weeks. I know that petrolatum/petroleum products as well as products that contain mineral oil are bad for your hair, but what about castor oil?
I bought a grease and here are the listed ingredients: castor oil, mink oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, jojoba oil, parrafin oil, safflower oil, cocoa butter, propylparaben, fragrance.
Is that ok to use? Any suggestions on what I should be using to keep my hair moisturized

That grease sounds really great. But from doing natural hair I know that shea butter works really well. Just pure shea butter tames the hair, conditions it, and helps define curls, as well as holds braids and braid outs.

The best thing for black hair is OLIVE oil. I recommend olive oil hair products…like the brand olive oil.
That’s what I use.
