I used to have nice hair but as I've gotten oler (I'm 34), it's gotten frizzy. Is there anything I can do?
I don't know if it's a vitamin deficiancy or the humidity of living in Tennessee (from California). I use everything from grocery store shampoo and conditioner to high end salon products. I've tried anti-friz stuff (including Paul Mitchell) and it makes my hair look oily.
It's so frizzy it's unmanageable. I used to have soft, shiny hair about ten years ago.
Thank You!! I have some new things to try. Thanks again!

I’ve experimented a lot to tame my frizzy hair, and I’ve got it under control pretty good I think, but it probably depends on what your hair is like & how you like to wear it.
Use whatever shampoo is suited to your hair – anti frizz, dry/damaged, coloured, oily – whatever you think is your biggest problem or get one that ticks a few boxes if you can.
My hairdresser told me that to avoid my hair looking oily, I should shampoo all of my hair, roots to tips, but when using conditioner (or any other product apart from heat protector or hairspray) it should mostly be applied to the ends.
Use a leave in conditioner or moisturiser for dry/damaged or frizzy hair after you get out of the shower & towel dry. Put product on hands & rub together, then lean over & run fingers through ends of hair. Once it seems like it’s all through, run your fingers (which will still be a teency bit wet with the conditioner) a tiny bit closer to your scalp. Remember your head produces oils so if you add more right at the roots, it’s bound to look oily.
I wear my hair straightened, but if I let my hair dry naturally, dry in a towel or blow dry, it turns into a bit of a boofy mess, & will have fly aways everywhere once I straighten it. So once I’ve put in my leave in treatment & my hair is still a tad wet, I part my hair where I want & using a fine tooth comb, smooth all the hair down & tie it in a tight low bun & leave it to dry. Sometimes I wrap a cloth around my bun to help it dry quicker. Once it’s dry, my hair is nice & flat on top the way I want it, ready to style & I either do curls or just straighten with style iron (using a heat protect spray as I style). If you use any products to finish off your style, check the ingredients list – if it has water (aqua or h2o) don’t use it on your finished hairstyle because it will make your hair frizz up again. Use a wax or oil, applying mostly to the ends.
Also I try not to be too rough with my hair (towel drying & stuff) & use a satin pillowcase.
Took years for me to get this down packed – Hope some (or all) of it works for you!
Good Luck!

It’s the humidity – I have the same problem here in Sydney. Anyway, my strategy these days wash and condition with whatever shampoo/conditioner we happen to have in the shower, then when its still dripping wet put on some serum. Dry it (preferably naturally, but if time’s short then use a hairdryer). After that it’s out with the straighteners (get good quality ones – cheap ones are a waste of time – they need to heat up to at least 230). Spray with Living Proof’s No Frizz (it’s a new product) then straighten it. My hair looks a bit like Einstein’s if it’s left to it’s own devices, but after this little routine its fab – soft, straight and healthy looking. Problem is, as some people get older their hair gets more wiry and frizzy – my hair used to be naturally straight(ish) when I was younger, but as I’ve gotten older it’s become a lot more unmanageable.

I would try using Suave Professionals extra hold spray. I use it and it keeps my hair tamed for the practically the whole day! Also, try using Dep Sport styling gel and the John Frieda Frizz-Ease conditioner. This will keep your frizz to a minimum. Hope I could help!
